  1. It appears Rovers are holding out for large sums of cash for their better players. I wonder how much Venky's is willing to support them this season and the need to sell? It appears that they want to be more involved and prop them up, at least for the time being.
  2. It's a good game, very addictive but with a sort life span. Once you have won the world cup with England and the prem with saints, you lose interest. Well, I did anyway.
  3. I still haven't seen any real criticism of our training ground or stadium development plans. Am I missing something?
  4. You haven't got 10k posts. I think the man from steps was targeting Turkish. Either that or Glasgow has come under unwarranted fire.
  5. Do you find that as you get older, you are starting to prefer male company more and more Turkish? A few drinks with the lads on a Friday night, a swim on a Saturday, a topless wrestle on a Sunday? Seriously though, this is normal Turkish. As you get older and in a more stable relationship, your testosterone levels drop, you are getting enough boning at home and you therefore stop letting female looks brush over personality defects. When you were 20, you might have known deep down that Sharon in accounts was a boring Muppet but you were too obsessed trying to peek down her top to notice. Now, you don't obsess over her looks and have noticed that her collecting beany babies is not actually as cute as you thought it was 10 years ago, it is ****ing weird and you avoid talking to her, just in-case she brings them up in conversation, even if she does still have nice tits.
  6. You started all this by mentioning training facilities. Give yourself some infraction points!
  7. I didn't mention your name MLG, I used you as a reference point. Glasgow said he (the topic of the thread) might move to us as we have some of the best training facilities in the UK. I said top 8 In England, to demonstrate that we are not alone in having good training facilities, there are at least 8 other teams with similar or better. I admit it did open a bit of a Pandora's box but initially I did not quote you to beat you with your quote. If anything, it was a compliment. I did not even notice you had started the thread to be honest. Stop being so paranoid.
  8. Where is all this criticism? I've reread the thread and am struggling to find any really. Yes, we are improving and that is a good thing but other teams arent just standing there doing nothing, they are not Pompey. It is a fair question, what are other teams in the division doing and where will that put us in comparison. It doesn't mean we hate MLG or mig as hulk calls him or that anyone wants saints to do badly. Just that we are trying to have a chat about ground and training ground improvements.
  9. Thank you hypo but I feel you are greatly mistaken. I am far from sensible and am only being sensible on this thread as it is the first potentially interesting one on the main forum for ages (more interesting than the endless threads we have on every player a journalist has been bothered to link us to anyway) and because there are adults present and it's bad enough hearing them moan about Turkish (without really even having the bottle to name him), let alone having them moan about me too. Please feel free to call me an idiot on other threads.
  10. No it is Crystal Palace bear, not Crystal Palaced.
  11. Thanks for the info MLG, the plans were interesting. If I am permitted to place one criticism, it is that it didn't really tell me too much of what will be inside but I guess all of the really juicy stuff is kept under wraps as we don't want other clubs copying it. I am genuinely interested in how highly you regard the source that told you about the stadium expansion to 52k. Do you believe them? Are they credible? On another note, stranger than the people like Turkish who are a bit negative towards you (I have been myself in the past but I am trying to be polite in the hope you won't be condescending), is the people that think anyone questioning a word MLG says is either criticising him to the point of bullying him or is in someway a negative saints fan who hopes we get relegated. MLG is the one being questioned as he is the one who put forward the information and generally researches stuff. The questions are in the most part genuine, even Turkish with his aggressive style is mainly just questioning the validity of the claims and at times poking a bit of fun. It might be boring at times as the threads become the same but not nearly as boring as the people getting on their high horse. Thank you for the info MLG. I am obviously a far more sceptical person than you and therefore question the propaganda but the information is never-the-less interesting. Flyer does have a good point though.
  12. I've been trying to establish all day the differences in prem teams training grounds and where we are in comparison. What do we have for example that stoke or QPR won't? What will man city have that no one else will? Is it just a case of more running machines? All I've really see of our new training ground is a mock up of a small looking swimming pool and a cinema/lecture hall. Will there be a lot of sport science stuff, oxygen tanks or something or is it just a big David Lloyd with football pitches instead of tennis courts?
  13. Exactly, we can't have it both ways, the amount spent doesn't reflect what has been improved unless we are spending it and then it does. Spurs had to buy the land, ok fine. If we knew how much that cost, even an estimate, then we could work out how much they have spent on increasing their training facilities. MLG, I am sure you could find this out if anyone can? By the way, it is sometimes good to look objectively at things, not just swallow what we are being told. This does not mean we are bad supporters. Come on take away the emotion and propaganda and let us know what you think.
  14. I know, you did it while I was typing. Stoke are trying to hype it up though. EPPP is designed to create a structure and facilities which will give English football a world-class Academy system, and we want to ensure that we are right up there with the top clubs so we can nurture the best young talent in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas, while also attracting the best young players who are available to us Out of interest, when you have to argue these things with your FM mates, how do you say "ours will be better" to the researchers from other clubs? I am sure every club, says they will be up there with the best, as Stoke have just done. I expect QPR have big plans. How do you ensure we come out on top?
  15. That's my point really. I am sure most teams say they have top facilities or have plans to get top facilities. I was wondering if we really will have a top facilities as Les Reed said on saint player or if all teams are saying this and we will just have average facilities after the revamp. Top 8 is a bit of a let down if I am honest as I believed the saints player stuff and obviously misunderstood MLG when he said about only us and Man City or whatever.
  16. Our grounds keeper are on twitter. Have you been speaking to them? How reliable would you say your source is? Do you believe the 52k thing? Are they in a good position to really know or is it just speculation?
  17. First place gets a new car, 2nd place gets a set of steak knives, 3rd place gets fired.
  18. He is from Winsford in Cheshire, where my family live. It is pretty far from Liverpool (a good hours drive) but some people do strangely have scouse accents.
  19. Thank you for the answer
  20. Thanks, I did but it went off topic, the new topic being whether MLG is an annoying self righteous **** or if he was a misunderstood pillar of info. I thinking that the subject of new seats in the dug out was fairly limited, so maybe MLG can give his opinion on all of the improvements we were making in general (ground and training) and if these improvements would make us amongst the best in the league of if it would just bring us up to standard as the other teams were also improving. Maybe I was a bit optimistic. I might go back to the Muppet show for a bit.
  21. I'm trying to turnover a new leaf with you but this kind of thing doesn't help. Usually, when people say top 8 it means somewhere around 8th. It can mean anywhere above 8 but in common vernacular it is the lowest point. For example, you would probably say Stoke are a top 8 side in a good season, meaning if the play well, they can finish anywhere between 8th and maybe 6th. Anyway, I don't want to turn this into an argument, just pointing out why people are short with you at times. Fair point about Carrington, although new does not always mean better. My gym has just had a revamp with all new machines and the old gym was 100 times better. I know new is generally better, changes in technology etc but still. What about the Stadium, If we were to improve it as per the plans you sometimes post up, where would you place us in comparison to other prem teams?
  22. Thanks. It is a bit of a come down from original expectations. I guess other teams have put improvement plans in place as well which bring us down a bit. I thought when the plans first came out we would be one of the few category A academy (assuming the training facilities is linked to the academy rating that is). When you say top 8, I guess you mean somewhere around 8th, so maybe 7th or even 9th. What do you other teams have planned that we are missing? Is it something serious or is it just size?
