  1. Does give him defensive cover, although Caulker being dragged out wide is a scary prospect. Ighalo especially is quick!
  2. Any streams?
  3. Yes, especially against teams that play with a proper front 2. Tended to play a little more direct to Pelle and then play off him.
  4. Not their fault if they want to sign some of our players and since we have been in the PL none of our players have actually moved there so its a moot point.
  5. Van Dijk would probably suit a back 3 very well with his agility and ability to bring the ball out of defense.
  6. Return of 3-5-2 Wanyama and Mane both start. Stek Cedric, Yoshida, Fonte, Caulker, Targett Romeu, Davis, Wanyama Mane, Pelle Should be more solid and allows Mane to play close to Pelle but the thought of Caulker being dragged into wide areas is scary! Slight concern we are playing a different system in the 3rd PL game after having used a different one all of pre season.
  7. @Iandennisbbc: Referee delegate at Vicarage Rd noticed cross bar not straight. It will be adjusted and hawk eye system will be re-tested #bbcfootball
  8. @HarrisonReed: Super Sunday in bed for me ??⚽️
  9. Rondon would eat Yoshida alive!
  10. He has been offered to Lyon and lots of others recently so still available. Wouldn't have been upset to keep him, can play that attacking central midfield role well.
  11. He did. So did Les Reed. No players are going. Doesn't mean they don't want to. But none will go.
  12. Hearing it when? A few months ago at a friendly, when those you are speaking to know you are a Saints fan? Reed and Kruger both told me they were confident of Pochettino signing a new contract, face to face at the Awards dinner. Within a couple of weeks he was at Spurs, which presumably they both knew was likely.
  13. Only if the commentators arrive on time! Currently stuck on the M3.
  14. No disrespect but this is as bad as the "bedwetting" posts. Wanyama might have told you at some point that he loves it here, but not enough to even consider a new contract or to prevent him telling a Journalist he would like to join Arsenal. ..."whilst Toby really wanted to stay I think the thought of living in London for a young man was too exciting not to accept". Maybe Wanyama wants to live in London too? Maybe when you spoke to Mane's agent at the friendly in Austria he just fobbed you off because he is hardly likely to reveal his plans for his Client to a Saints fan at a friendly match. Don't be naïve.
  15. Caulker is cover for Gardos. VVD a replacement for Toby. Most matchdays we would have 3 CBs (Caulker, Vlaar and Yoshida) not playing and possibly up to two of them not even on the bench. If Martina is cover surely 5th CB is classed as cover! Think how many times we needed a 5th CB last season, none I believe.
  16. Vlaar just makes no sense to me unless: 1. Koeman wants to play 3 CBs a lot more often 2. One of the current CBs is leaving Just don't see that we need 5 senior centre backs, barely any club has that many, plus Martina and McCarthy could play there if we had a major injury crisis and lost 3 of our 4 to injury/suspension. Plus Vlaar said himself he doesn't expect to be back until 2016. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/former-aston-villa-defender-ron-6096251 If we need a 5th CB we could use Jack Stephens rather than have him sat on Middlesbrough's bench.
  17. Scottish Sun writer: @davidfriel81: Southampton pursuit of Virgil van Dijk is no secret but I'm assured the Celtic man will face Malmo on Tuesday. Be stunned if he goes before
  18. Probably not. Wilson already looking a good player at this level, quick, strong and can finish. Probably in the £15m bracket by end of season.
  19. Wonder if Wanyama will play today? Hopefully, if not we will be physically light in midfield, but odnly if his head is in the game.
  20. Would be great to have him available for Norwich. He has been picked in the Holland squad which is a slight shame as he will miss the settling in time but I guess virtually all our players are away on Intl duty anyway. Fully expect him to play Tuesday night though, unless injured. No sense for Celtic to let him go before then as the Mirror article says.
  21. Agree. But he will play for them on Tuesday surely?
  22. Would be suprised if VVD moved before their second leg on Tuesday. Why insist he can't go before their qualifiers are done and then let him leave a couple of days before the biggest one? Nine of their players were left out today. He will play Tuesday and then go IMO.
  23. Basically we have to build a new team every season. Good luck to the Managers doing that every year!
  24. Jeez that Adama Traore looks rapid!
