  1. But you said "the club says he is happy to stay". Apart from they haven't, have they? You made it up. As for Wanyama's state of mind, I have no idea of course.
  2. Nobody is disputing that. We won't sell Wanyama or Mane this window.
  3. Exactly. People cling to the comments of a Manager in a press conference but they are putting across the PR spin of their club (understandably) and obviously situations change. The comments of RK versus Delia for example are not dissimilar even though we know Celtic will sell Van Dijk. Managers comments are as much PR/game playing as anything else.
  4. The Club haven't said Wanyama is happy to stay unless I missed it? They just said nobody is being sold.
  5. I wasnt making a point about Saints tbh just that all Managers put out there what they want to. I wouldn't always believe it as gospel truth. I do believe Wanyama is ill too, but also that he probably is pushing to leave.
  6. Celtic Manager's stance softening. With a fair bid he is anyones I think.
  7. Why do you think WH are getting shot of him? His legs are gone, he isn't a PL quality player anymore. I can't believe people are even suggesting it.
  8. He wouldn't get in our team or even on the bench at times.
  9. I wouldn't. Whenever we play 4 attackers we struggle. No need to do anything different than normal. We have options to change it too. Romeu, Davis and JWP/Reed in midfield then a front three.
  10. Yeah sounds like he would struggle to make Sunday too on that basis. Such a shame Clasie got that injury.
  11. The impossible comment was the year before when we signed him on loan. Of course things change but I wouldn't hang onto every word a PL Manager says in a press conference. They give away what they want and keep to themselves what they want. When the Manager says "you need to ask the Chairman about that" it isn't because they genuinely don't know. Or then Ronald knows for a fact we haven't had an offer for Wanyama or Mane but doesn't know if we have bid for Van Dijk. That is all.
  12. He said just days before we signed Alderweireld that it would be impossible to sign him. He also said just a day before Toby signed for Spurs that Toby wanted to move here (he clearly knew at that point it was done). He said Ramirez was welcomed back then a week later said "everyone knows it is difficult for Gaston to stay here." He said in the summer there was no chance of Jay Rod being ready to be a starter in the league until after a few weeks and then he started the first game. Not a pop at Ronald at all but I would be wary of believing anything any Manager says, they all have their reasons.
  13. So do I. But clearly Wanyama isn't very happy. No wonder our start to the season has been ****, so much going on behind the scenes. Window should shut first game of the season. When the best GK in the league isn't starting for the biggest team in the league due to transfer speculation then you know it isn't working.
  14. If Spurs are pushing hard the next step is a transfer request, which is quite at odds with Koeman saying there has been no bids. He has been known not to be entirely truthful before to the media, would imagine they have bid.
  15. Spurs telling their targets to unfollow twitter accounts is bizarre but gets in the news I guess. Is a shame that all the players who have had interest in them can't seem to get out quick enough and seem happy to deploy underhand tactics. Hope we stand firm, he will still be worth a decent bit next summer and we don't need the money anyway.
  16. Chelsea already bid the right price about two offers ago! I know his contract was running down but they will pay about quadruple what we got for Clyne!
  17. Not sure I agree with the "go direct" approach. Fine the odd ball up to Pelle but too often becomes predictable and easy to defend. What happened to playing our game and beating them due to having superior technical players?
  18. He put it perfectly for Everton. Same doesn't work for us as we have sold 6 or 7 players for 10m plus in the last 2 years, so can't suddenly get precious about values. Fair play to Everton for digging their heels in and even if he does go this window they get a monster fee, far in excess of any of our sales.
  19. I think they were pretty clear/firm nobody else will go and would expect the Club to stick to that. If they don't then agree its a very poor situation and could even affect Koeman's immediate future. But I believe Reed when he says nobody goes unless we want them to.
  20. Looks unlikely it would be completed in time to face Norwich. Will be a deadline day job IMO.
  21. We are getting 1 x CB so don't get your hopes up of multiple 10-15m signings. We have a good squad for the ambitions we have, to be a decent, well run PL side, acting as a showcase for good players.
  22. The football is often poor though. Depends what you are looking for. All the fans of Championship teams want to be in the PL.
  23. It pretty much is, even with the ludicrous levels of hype.
  24. Would just mean the likes of Sporting Lisbon, Marseille and Dynamo Kiev buying our best players as well as Man Utd, Liverpool or Spurs. Its great being part of the PL, we are playing in the best league in the world so not sure why anyone would want to be in a lesser league, watching lesser players?
