Exactly like him, which is why we won't go for him - we wanted a young keeper to develop and we went for Gazza. if we still wanted Butland we would have got him seeing as we offered 6m in the summer and could have him for 3m now. We arent interested and havent been since we got Gazza.

Rodriguez has far, far superior movement though and will improve whereas with Sharp what you see is the best you will get.

For 21 he has achieved a lot more than Sharp has though.

People need to get over Sharp. He did a good job for us and is a decent Championship goal poacher but he isn't coming back here. I don't see stacks of Premier League teams falling over themselves to sign him.

Deadline days are funny - everyone gets in a frenzy but rarely do any decent players move around, its all the usual suspects who nobody really wants - Bentley, Huddlestone etc. Stoke will buy a few more average players and then its all over.

I think a lot of the time people are either jealous they don't have the same access, or are annoyed when something negative is written even if it turns out to be true.

Would just be ideal if we brought in an attacking midfielder, even if on loan from somewhere. Would give us much more depth. Pochettino definitely suggested an addition wasnt out of the question last night.

Butterfield to the MLS will happen today apparantly, joining the team Norwich signed that striker from yesterday. Decent move for him.

For me he clearly has some good contacts at Saints so worth listening to what he says, and I am sure this will only improve his his career grows. I do find at times he is a bit overly negative, probably because he is wary (rightly so) of being biased as a Saints fan rather than Saints Journalist. His reports etc would give no indication he is a fan which is good, plus he knows the questions fans want to hear asked at pressers which also helps. He has made some strong comments on the Adkins situation on Twitter which shows he isnt afraid of the club, but then seemed annoyed he hadn't been given the Cortese exclusive...IMO as a national Journalist it is going to hard to maintain good relationships with the club given their somewhat bizarre media relations especially if you "go against the SFC grain" too many times. For the future, I would like to see Simon try to bring some good exclusives to the fans which to be honest no Journalists are able to do. For example, the mysterious loan would be a good one to investigate....
