In his defence he may not be fully match fit - he's missed games through injury, been dropped and then there was the 3 week break. Think he needs games to get back up to his normal levels.

I thought a goal resulting from handball was always meant to be disallowed and a free kick given. If so our first should have been disallowed and can only think the ref didn't spot the ball brushing Adams arm. That referee was hopeless - he blew for every slight touch and pretty well every time a player fell over.

A decent performance and much needed win. We were very comfortable at 2-0 but naively allowed the Coventry keeper to skim a long pass to an unmarked player in midfield. That should never happen in any game at this level and it led to their goal and a few nervous moments. Overall though a good team performance and again emphasises the damage done by only gaining 2 points from the previous 3 games. As others have said Mara was a complete waste of time and we have better players more deserving of a place on the bench and minutes on the pitch. He just does not seem to have any zip about him and is still relatively weak so easily knocked off the ball.

Could well happen and nobody would be surprised. Would love to see us start fast, ping the ball about positively and have a right good go at them but I'm expecting death by a thousand passes.

Draw - probably 1-1

His name - he's not called Jack Stephens. I suspect he is pretty pissed off.

If managers and players have any sense they will not be wasting their time reading/reacting to comments on fan's forums. If they do and they are offended then that's their own stupid fault.
-
With better in-game management and team selection the last 3 games could and should have yielded 9 points and we'd have been right in the mix for one of the automatic promotion spots. That we're not is mainly down to RM's decision making and inabilty to make tactical changes during games for me. Once again, as others falter we have missed the golden chance to take advantage.
-
I'm pretty sure I know the answer but has any side ever won promotion to the Premier League with arguably the worst keeper in the Championship? I'm guessing most promoted sides had a competent guy between the sticks.
-
This is my issue as well - it's all waffle and never changes which means the mistakes on the pitch never change. It's a load of catch-phrases and cliches without substance and always leaves me feeling that we will continue to throw away winning positions because RM has no intention of doing anything that might rectify the glaring omissions which cause our regular capitulations.
-
I think RM is here next season whatever happens.
-
AA was totally at fault for the second goal - this is very clear from the highlights.
-
The next fan's forum could be interesting if RM and Baz are still in their current roles.
-
Surely if Baz moves on we buy a new keeper who can make saves?
-
So you are assuming none of our youngsters would rise to the occasion? I've seen bags of promise in Sam Amo-Ameyaw who is nearly 18 now and only one year younger than Kobbie Mainoo who is playing for Man Utd and England. If they're good enough they're old enough. As to the goalkeeper you talk as though Baz is miles better than Lumley - not from what I've seen so why not give the latter a chance? This is a chance to try out players with nothing riding on results.
-
I would say goals two and three come into this category. The second goal AA was always closest to the eventual scorer but for some reason chose to just leave him with all the space in the world in our box. The winning goal we chose not to press the guy on the left who supplied the assist and those in the middle sat too close to our goal marking no one instead of spreading out and giving Ipswich no space and not being close enough to press the scorer who ridiculously had time to take a bad touch, slip over and still jump up and toe poke the ball home. Lessons need to be learned but they never are and probably won't be now. The first goal was all on Baz.
-
We should be planning for the play offs now so a chance to try out some of the youngsters and give Lumley a try in goal. The results of individual games are no longer as important and our focus should be on getting ready for 2 huge matches leading hopefully to a massive final. The play off games may need some tactical tweaks rather than carrying on as we are which clearly risks us throwing away good positions through lack of in-game management. Time for RM to admit the flaws in his one system game plan and introduce some alternatives - he could learn a lot from the Ipswich manager who managed to turn a likely defeat into a stunning victory by changing things. I won't hold my breath.
-
Isn't this a damning indictment of every person involved in the running our football club? We were told at the fans forum that Baz was some kind of goalkeeping genius. There was an anger and arrogance towards any criticism of him. Yet, once again, he sits rock bottom of the stats for his league.
-
If it aint broke, break it! This sums up Rasmus who is clearly not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.
-
RM is in charge of a quality squad at this level. He has them playing some great football and we've scored many very well-worked goals this season. Unfortunately, where he comes unstuck is in his stubborn and somewhat arrogant mantra that we will never change the way we play - to give him his due we don't and therein lies the big problem which is in-game management. He has no plans or alternatives during games when we come under the cosh which will inevitably happen in most matches whatever the standard of the opposition. No team can hope to dominate for 90 minutes which makes it clear that, during the times when trying to stem the tide, you need to do something different rather than arrogantly and vainly hoping that your one and only system will somehow keep your goal in tact - it won't and it hasn't on many occasions as we've all seen. This is his major flaw that has cost us the chance of automatic promotion because it results in throwing away precious points and also gives opponents and their managers hope they can get something from us in every game we play.
-
Who would be your two holding midfielders?
-
It's his get out of jail free card that fools absolutely no one. He drops KWP amid a furore from disgruntled fans and seeks to justify his decision by claiming that Bree played really well when clearly, to most watching, he didn't. It's a character flaw and not a great trait for someone managing a football club.
-
It does defy all logic that we search for a new keeper as cover because the number 1 is not a great shot-stopper and sits rock bottom of the Championship stats for this season whilst the number 2 is being paid £50k weekly to go through the motions at training and the best we can come up with is someone who sat rock bottom of the Championship stats for the previous season. Is the tea lady in charge of recruiting goalkeepers?
-
Have to disagree - I don't think many would have let in the first.
-
The numbers are pretty damning to be fair. Even with some leeway for data error it's hard to defend Baz.
