  1. Sums it up for me.
  2. An awful lot of women, classic floating voters, according to the women where I & my wife work, couldn't vote for him based on his looks and voice. Shallow perhaps but I do understand it. I said at the time that they'd picked the wrong brother and it would cost them the election.
  3. Which is why they changed the system. I voted for David.
  4. They did that with one member one vote IMHO.
  5. Always thought he'd sign but my faith was waning every day that passed. Well done Saints.
  6. Not half as bad as the hysterical bed wetting from the right about the SNP taking over the running of the UK and holding us all to ransom before the election. Now that was really pathetic. Nearly as stupid as Duckhunters claims regarding how many seats UKIP would get.
  7. As a leftie I've done an awful lot of cringing reading your posts. Your heart is clearly in the right place and your sentiments sincere, I just find them a little to desperate for my taste. Sorry mush.
  8. These aren't lefties, they are just anarchist scum.
  9. Just when I think Hockey Saint is responsible for the daftest comments you come along and steal his crown.
  10. After a couple of midweek smashfests & weekend 100milers next weekend is the Dougie Mac ride out of Stoke 110miles plus 16miles there and back. It'll be a group ride (with a cafe stop) but it's still going to hurt.
  11. LOL fest on this thread now. Brilliant.
  12. Are you pis_sed? Many were utterly livid with Blair for getting into bed with Murdock.
  13. We wasn't elected by either the majority of Labour MPs or ordinary members. He won because of the union vote, especially UNITE. The downside of collegiate style voting. It was a stick that was used wisely by the tories to beat him from day 1.
  14. Have you not noticed that he's not the brightest of bulbs?
  15. I'd like her too. Canny operator and sharp as a tack. I think she'd best Boris and, importantly, bring women back into the fold.
  16. I think that's fair. So many women today at my work and my wife's saying how they simply couldn't vote for Ed. I said on here when he won that they'd elected the wrong brother and that it would cost them the election. I had hoped to be wrong.
  17. Plenty of us have been saying for years that it's unrepresentative & needs changing but alas neither London based Labour or the tories will change it. I just cannot see how it's right that UKIP polls nearly 4m votes but ends up with just 1 seat. I dislike them immensely but those 4m voters deserve a voice, same is true for the Greens.
  18. Labour made a massive mistake in standing alongside the tories in Scotland during the independance campaign. Friends of mine in Glasgow voted No in the referendum but voted SNP yesterday.
  19. Strange that some of us were "bleating" about PR when Labour was in power simply because we think it's right.
  20. I'm not so sure. Many people believe totally in the message UKIP were/are giving, odd as that may seem to many if us.
  21. That's due to be in by 2018 I believe. The Commons will be down from 650 to 600 IIRC.
  22. My genuine answer is I don't know. My local MP isn't "local" anyway. Very many aren't.
  23. Some have always eschewed the view that real PR should be in place. Despite my utter dislike for UKIP it is utterly wrong that their percentage of the vote results in just one seat. PR doesn't suit either the tories or Labour so it'll never happen.
  24. I really do enjoy listening to Malcolm Rifkind speak. He should be on political programs more often.
