  1. Cannock Chase was heaving today. It's OK the car parks being busy as the MTB crowd use it as it's one of the top trails in the UK and is the next Commonwealth Games MTB course but the cafes etc were rammed and there were stacks of people in large groups out walking. The skateboarding bowls in town were packed too. Not a mask or any SD in sight but as the kids don't use or do either at school it's no surprise they don't outside of the classroom either.
  2. The vast majority of the population have cracked on and made the best of it. Those doing all the whinging and whining are the right wing contrarian grifters objecting to any restrictions and using the Magna Carta as an example of how to undermine the national efforts. The same ones who were saying how there wouldn't be a 2nd wave and how masks are pointless, how it's just like a flu are now the ones screaming about a vaccine. They were wrong then and they're wrong now.
  3. I'd be in the front of the queue.
  4. Should have had a 2 week proper lockdown the week before half term and half term. Kids could have had a week of online learning and it would have drastically cut the infection rates in secondary schools and tertiary which is clearly driving infection rates in the community at large according to the data. Now we have a half in/out, what the fuck is going on lockdown and infection rates in schools and colleges rocketing meaning way too many students and staff testing positive and far too many missing too much. Local colleges to me have had to flip to totally remote, as have the 6
  5. I'm A Celebrity and similar. Just don't get the appeal. Niche gins. Nah, it's a twats drink.
  6. Love the stuff, especially with raisins. My pre-ride food of choice as it is packed full of slow release carbs.
  7. A great goalkeeper for club and country.
  8. "Beacon Hill" should have given us a clue when I was planning the route!
  9. Went into Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire today as part of a 5 counties ride. Got to say it was a lovely part of the world.
  10. When the orange cunt is in a federal prison, then I'll be happy.
  11. At least "Lockdown 0.2" brings with it quiet roads. I'll still be working but will make the most of the quiet evenings and weekends. Winter bike goes in for new bearings, pads and chain etc tomorrow in anticipation.
  12. Dennis was MOTM! Insane riding in the mountains.
  13. It was only closed because the tour was going over it. I rode it last year. Up from Bormio, down to Prato, round into Switzerland, up from Santa Maria and then back down to Prato and finishing up Cancanno. One of the best days on a bike ever.
  14. Winksworth is like that. Every way in/out is at least 20%. We went around the head of the valley to avoid it! The 25% didn't even flash up on my Garmin as a climb, nor did a 15%er 20 miles later that broke one of the lads I ride with. We take it in times to do the routes and this was my turn. I want hilly without being OTT to keep my 2 "larger" mates happy. They are both confirmed hill dodgers. It was the cold and rain that did it for me. It started drizzling at 30miles and by 80miles I had frozen hands, I didn't have my "good" gloves on as no rain was forecast. That's the
  15. He's such a wan_kpuffin it's not even worth entering into discussion with him TBF.
  16. Do you always have to be such a cu_nt? Take a day off and just post your points as the valid issues you often make get lost in your peak gammon bluster. This is from CNN but the WP article I want to post is behind a paywall but it's being carried by everyone except Fox. It would appear that kids are already lost in the system and the system doesn't know how to reunite families. https://edition.cnn.com/2018/06/20/politics/family-separation-reunification/index.html
  17. Don't know why I didn't think of this early Summer. Where and how much riding have you done this weekend? I did a 75km club ride Saturday with 600m of climbing and a solo 90km Sunday with 1100m climbing. 1st rides for a week and I'm feeling it now.
