Fair enough. Have you thought about doing threshold interval training once or twice a week? That would rapidly improve your performance.

Joys of living in lumpy land.

You should ride with the hardest group available. You'll work harder and improve quicker. Won't hurt to do that once a week (I lied, it will hurt). Our Saturday club rides are pedestrian but the Wednesday or Thursday rides are brutal and are prison rules. Not uncommon for it to be cranked up to 30mph-35mph on a certain loop and kept at that for miles. The hilly routes still average around 22mph and they may included 5000ft of climbing. The extra 60miles we did after our Saturday club ride would usually average around 20mph-22mph but my oppo was seriously suffering when myself and my other oppo upped the pace, plus he can't climb so her had to reign it in a bit. My highlight though was winning the race back to the townsign on the club ride. Our ride always becomes a free for all race with about 8-5km from home and yesterday myself (49) & the 35yo owner of the shop the club is based, rode everyone else off our wheels with 1km to go. I sat in his wheel and when he jumped I clicked straight down the block, went into the red and beat him by a rim. I hit 58kmph in the sprint and by heartrate hit 181bpm. He was gutted, I was chuffed.

I do more climbing than that in the 1st 5km of leaving my house!

100 miler for me, just because. One of the three really struggled though which slowed us right down at times. I recommend checking out the photo and the comments. https://www.strava.com/activities/334039508

Toby isn't our player so as far as I can tell we are only losing the two players we'd always expected to. Will we improve? Doubt it if I'm honest.

Every man & his dog have known that both Clyne and Morgan were off. More money and the fact that Spurs have met the asking price has more to do with it at the moment.

Interesting debate I heard on the TV saying how many want to come to the UK as the black economy is so well established and run that they can work illegally very easily. Never really come across the black economy in that respect so is it true? The cocklepickers who drown in Morecombe Bay spring to mind.

He's a professional footballer. He knows loyalty only to himself. -
One thing is for certain and that is if we want him we are going to have to pay big money for him.
-
Pretty obvious that Saints want shot of the those players not staying before pre-season starts.

No one on any thread is saying we should take anyone from Calais. Find me one thread that states that those economic migrants in Calais should be granted entry. Just one. Oh wait, you can't.
-
Thanks, I'll get it ordered.
-
Clearly not as we are talking about the UK.
-
I'm sure you can find me evidence of "loads of people" saying how we should take those at Calais. Not saving lives in the Med, but taking those at Calais.

Love the way you just make sh11t up. No one, not one person I can see, anywhere, has said we should welcome them.

Bringing Up The Bodies is the better book of the two. Personally I found them an easy read.

Only ever go to the Chunnel straight off the motorway so never see anything of the camps. Doing Newhaven - Dieppe this time around though.

Just finished Beevor's Ardennes 1944. As expected, wonderfully written and has me planning a trip out to that part of the world as a part cycling mecca/part history buff trip.

Arsenal definitely. A Stoke youth coach told me about him, how good he was and how the bigger clubs were after him and was amazed that I'd not heard of him. Very, very highly rated by everyone apparently, but I wouldn't know him from Adam.

Which club is better: Liverpool, Tottenham, Southampton, or Swansea
