Replacing in form players currently performing well in this league is a risk even if the players who replace them are as good or better on paper. Absolutely no guarantees they will work out which is why it's a gamble.

So last summer when people got upset at the "prospect" of not signing an adequate striker and other posters said it was premature and we weren't allowed to say anything until the end of the window, when the window closed those same people were rating it 8, 9 or 10 and making excuses for the lack of a striker.

Almost no one has made a fuss about outgoings thus far, it's the prospect of further losses in the form of Adams, Alcaraz, Tella and KWP that people are getting upset about. With very little time to replace them, it's going to be a big risk that we don't need.

Can you really blame fans given the shit show of the transfer windows over the past few years? Selling off the remaining good players now and then bringing in a load of new players-regardless of quality-is imo a risk we don't need to take.

Not sure what you mean by better. What other proven championship goalscorers are there? Anyone else is bound to be a risk that we don't need to take.

Not sure I agree with that. Entirely conceivable we could spend 15 million on a replacement for Adams. Doubt we'd spend whatever we bring in for kwp on a rb but could see maybe 15 million on a cb.

Well that's absolutely obvious. Even if we wanted to, we couldn't spend 100 million in this league.

We got the same thing with West ham and then jwp went there in the end. Same thing will happen here most likely.

Adams is fine as a squad player in the Premier league but not as a starting attacker. He's absolutely good enough to be the main player in the championship though. They're two different jobs.

Yes that's my point. I can see the logic in selling Adams, even if it weakens us but the others are under contract and we should be taking the hit for a year.

If we keep Alcaraz we will have made at least one exception. What's a couple more.

Absolutely. Unless Adams makes it very clear he is going to down tools and go on strike (something I don't think he will do), we should be telling him he will be staying for a season. With Piroe gone, I don't think any proven championship strikers remain. He needs to stay.

Absolutely. No offence to Swansea but they have little in the way of expectation for this year yet they can seemingly keep their best players and tie them to new contracts. It's mad that we cannot do the same for our last remaining players we would like to keep.

We are obviously getting a starting cb in and they will obviously replace bednarek. I'm not too worried about that because it's going to happen.

My guess is they've said he can go to Italy next year which is where it is reported he wants to go to. Does seem odd that he would commit to Swansea for another year in mid table though.

I'm more intrigued to know who the players are who have been holding on waiting for us to sign them. It isn't Piroe or grimes so not sure who it could be unless it's just pr spin.

There's no evidence that that will happen. Perform well and they can go with our blessing next year.

He's not going to publically say he's unhappy is he. Let's be realistic.
