  1. Also worth mentioning that men on average are more competitive and certainly more suited temperamentally to high level competitive events like sport. Obviously there are exceptions but it's not just society pushing men and women in certain directions. There are biological differences and different character traits on average.
  2. Possibly not although he's young enough so who knows in the future. Did shit here and well at Lens and who knows what sort of manager he will be in a decade When he won't even be mid 40s
  3. Definitely not defending him I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if he was successful at other clubs and in other circumstances because he already has been. He's not someone like Selles who will be useless wherever he goes.
  4. I think separate from the point of biological fairness, it's true to say that women are given less exposure in sport generally and allowing men to compete in the women's competition is denying opportunities for exposure that women really need.
  5. A doctor's expert opinion on male advantage in darts: "Male advantage includes greater height, longer limbs, broader shoulders, more muscle mass, and stiffer tendons. These factors enhance reach, stability and throwing mechanics, affecting consistency and precision." Stance and throw. A combination of larger skeleton and advantageous biomechanics that maximise reach and more effective exploitation of forward lean contributes to an advantage for males in throwing mechanics and accuracy. Grip and motor control. Greater hand and arm strength delay fatigue of key muscles involved in release timing, supporting sustained scoring consistency in male players.
  6. Plenty of evidence at other clubs that he's a half decent manager even if he didn't show much during his brief tenure here. I would suggest he probably missed his regular support staff and wasn't experienced enough to handle the job largely on his own.
  7. Not sure I agree with that. His YouTube videos and things when he was talking in French made him seem quite direct and interesting. If he was successful everyone would love the way he talked, like how Tonda is actually really odd and his interviews are largely crap but no one cares because he's very successful. They'd be hating what he's like if he was losing.
  8. Maybe we needed the rock bottom but after hull in order for the reset and to change the mindset. Maybe he'd have had problems getting things sorted and maybe we'd have still got trash like Downs, loaning Bree and starting Bazunu which would have given him problems too.
  9. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we simply wouldn't have accepted hiring Tonda at the start of the season. Still was highly rated and viewed as the next big thing. It was even seen as a bit of a coup. I don't actually think he's a terrible manager he just wasn't a fit for us at all and certainly not in the position we found ourselves with terrible morale and in need of a rebuild of personnel and confidence. I can't see any situation where we would have hired Tonda before we did so we can't be that regretful that he got the job when he did. Having said that, had we appointed Rohl at the start of the season I reckon we'd be up near the top as well.
  10. Could be one point behind them by Wednesday....
  11. If we don't go up we will inevitably lose players but we should still have enough about us to do a Leeds. THB, Scienza, charles and Jander will likely go as a minimum. Possibility we don't sign Peretz either. New gk Bree Stephens wood/new signing Manning Downes Bragg Matsuki Azaz new signing Stewart/Larin Is still a decent team and with a couple of smart additions should see us in the hunt for promotion.
  12. Yep. They deserve big credit for getting Spors and then letting him do things his way. They can say all sorts of guff and they have done. What matters is results and performances and on that score they have finally got it right after Will Still and the signings this year have largely been decent.
  13. I'm not sure it's an either or really is it. I'm really against a lot of the tactics they use and some of their falsehoods they've peddled have been attempts to wreck lives Not sure why Douglas Murray is a cunt either.
  14. Not physically violent but they have emoyed some absolutely odious tactics to try to ruin people's lives.
  15. Does he? Their forum doesn't seem to think so.
  16. Who wrote him off? Lots of people said he APPEARED to be a shit signing and it was underwhelming. It was an initial judgement based on the available evidence. That judgement changed once the evidence did. I'd be interested to see how many posters actually wrote him off by saying he was guaranteed to be shit for us.
  17. Agreed we have to be hard nosed about it. The likes of Tadanari Lee and Lee Barnard were good championship servants but not good enough for the prem.
  18. I said Cyle looked like a shit signing on paper when we signed him. That initial assessment was wrong clearly and I'm very pleased that it was. I sti think it's odd that some posters on here don't expect other posters to have initial reactions to signings before they have played for us. We've had plenty of signings I thought would be great who turned out to be shite and vice versa. Nothing wrong with that, it's a message board.
  19. And me. Southampton leadership hadn't earnt any trust and seemingly made one mental decision after another. Appointing the assistant seemed like the cheap option because he was a yes man and when we lost all those games over Christmas whilst continuing with three at the back it seemed that was true. We praise the players for being brave but this was a very brave decision. Had this failed the club would have been ridiculed but as it happens, spors and the hierarchy deserve all the credit for sticking to their guns.
  20. Best thing about today was the use of the squad and how everyone performed. So valuable to have Edozie looking lively, Wellington getting an assist, Stewart coming off the bench to score, even archer having a useful run and pass.
  21. Who was moaning before the game about lack of attacking options? Have more faith!
  22. He's absolutely awful. I'm missing Adam and Jo tbh.
  23. Bit doom and gloom on here. Personally I think ita a decent team. A settled defence and Stephens back which is great, a pretty fresh Charles after largely being rested last game, fresh Downes and Matsuki and Larin was always going to play over Stewart. Fellows unlikely to start after playing for so long on Saturday and Scienza has just come back from injury and we will need him on Saturday as well. Great to see Edozie get a start as well, he should get some joy with his direct running and I like his style-certainly a great squad player in this league. Compare the 11 we have out to the one from the first game. Night and day!
  24. Are we judging prime ministers on their footballing abilities now? It was bad enough when Milliband got pilloried for eating a bacon sarnie like a spaz.
  25. I'm fascinated that players like Leicester can't muster up enough points to avoid the drop.
