  1. Why is my anecdotal evidence of my mixed race wife receiving almost no racial abuse despite living in this country her entire life less valid than your anecdotal evidence?
  2. Plus I see Streeting is busy torpedoing his leadership ambitions by green-lighting child experimentation.
  3. I'm genuinely shocked that Labour are planning scrap jury trials for offences under five years. I find it mad that governments can just do whatever they like with seismic law changes that weren't in their manifesto and the public were never asked.
  4. There's definitely more religious bigotry and xenophobia I agree. We also know what the reasons are for that and it's not because everyone has suddenly become less accepting of others out of nowhere. I also agree with your second point. If anything, racism and discrimination due to skin colour has declined in recent years, certainly that's my experience although I accept that's anecdotal.
  5. A rise in hate crime reports isn't evidence of crime going up.
  6. There's elements of racism, xenophobia etc in every country on Earth because it's human nature to be tribal. It is very obvious that we are one of the most tolerant and least bigoted nations on Earth though. I assume those who think the opposite have not spent time in the Middle East, Asia or even some European countries like Italy. It is certainly true that there are greater religious and cultural tensions than there have been in the past but that's kind of inevitable given the levels of mass migration in the last decade or so.
  7. Had Nathan Jones been successful with us, everyone on here would be loving his passion and PE teacher vibe. They'd find his foot in mouth approach to press conferences endearing. Really all people care about is getting points, no one really cares about what a manager is like. Personally I prefer ones with a bit to say in press conferences because it makes it more of an interesting watch but it's hardly the most important thing in the world.
  8. Also may be stating the obvious but someone reporting something does not necessarily mean that something has been committed- that would be the perception of the person making the complaint- or that a higher number of people reporting possible crimes means that the crime rate itself has gone up. You could argue that higher reporting rates is a positive thing as it means either awareness of the importance of reporting or the confidence that those reporting have that they will be believed has increased.
  9. My wife has brown skin and has been called a Paki twice in her life. We don't have a racism problem.
  10. Well them and appointing still which has wasted almost half a season.
  11. Because his football was boring
  12. "going going Gonda"
  13. My point is you wouldn't be saying that if he'd lost the three games.
  14. To be honest I think I prefer his approach because we are doing well. If we start doing shit again I can see it starting to grate. Last two press conferences have been a snore fest but as I said it really doesn't matter if he is a success.
  15. Just a shame about the money wasted on Quarshie and Downs.
  16. Tonda comes across as a bit boring and on the face of it doesn't seem very inspiring. No one will give the smallest shit about any of that if he keeps being successful. Managers can achieve success in different ways.
  17. Charlton was impressive but it's also true to say that Charlton played in a way that we won't be encountering very often in this league. If we can get big wins against teams with a low block who will look to frustrate us all game then I think we are on the right track. Obviously don't expect us to win every game.
  18. I genuinely think it depends on the results. If Leicester beat us 1-0 because they injure three of our players and deceive the ref to get two of our players sent off then I'm hardly going to be criticising the manager. We shouldn't be making long term decisions based on one or two games, we need to look at after these five which I think is a reasonable amount of time to make an assessment. We are only three games in.
  19. Personally it's more about the performance combined with the results. If we put in decent performances and are a bit unlucky over the next two then I could see him getting the job regardless.
  20. You are correct. Say we get smashed tomorrow then you'll have a load of people doubting again. These next two games should tell us a lot and I would look at the five games in total after Saturday and make a decision then.
  21. Now all we need is for Scienza to score the winner at Fratton and he will cement his status as a modern day legend.
  22. Indeed. If Tonda shows he can figure out teams that shut up shop against us then he deserves the job quite frankly. That's the unknown so far.
  23. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2k4jg0wkj4o How can this be permitted? Do the people involved have the surname Mengele?
  24. I'm not detracting anything. We played poorly in the previous two games and won the games. We played extremely well in the first half of this game and won the game. Let's take stock after Leicester and Millwall. If we play similarly then regardless of the result you'd have to say he's made a strong case for himself.
  25. In all politeness; fuck off.
