I understand that's how it works to some extent.

Don't disagree but if it's true that we needed the cash and the players wanted to go, I would have hoped we could have got at least one or two out of the building a bit quicker. At least as good or better was the quote. They'd have to hit consecutive home runs at this point in order to effectively replace those four players now. Not impossible but incredibly difficult.
-
I agree with you. Obviously this is all speculation at present but if it were to happen it would also destroy the morale and attitude we built up from last season. I did expect all of them to go in the immediate aftermath of spygate but losing them now at such a late stage would really be the worst of all worlds. Hopefully like Pilchards says no one will pony up the required dough.

Thanks captain obvious. Still doesn't mean we've given them time to bed into the team when a good start is imperative for us.
-
Blimey. If that is true and if we do end up selling all of them (not sure that will happen now) then you have to say that Boro have had a far superior window, getting their sales done early and then getting players in with good time to bed in.

That's a ridiculous way to look at it, we obviously have some parachute payments left and we do bring in some income as well. Like I said, I see no evidence at all that we can spend nothing this year and have to find 70 million. You've also failed to include the 7 million for Armstrong that almost lays the transfer fees of the first two.

I think this Alex Scott thing is an old story but in her case it was her great great great great grandfather from the early 1800s. It's slightly more understandable if it's your grandad, not least because there's a fair chance you will have met and interacted with them.
-
Of course someone can feel upset about it. I just think it's a waste of time and effort when you're not responsible in any way and literally nothing you can do about it. If I found out something like that about a distant ancestor I'd be interested but I'd also recognise how far removed they are from me.

TBF I don't think we can be definitive about anything until the window closes. Last year we got Scienza, Jander and Fellows bear the end of the window and they were all pretty decent. My main frustration if he goes now is that it is going to cost us even if we get a really good replacement in because it will take time to build an understanding and get up to speed when I want us to have a fast start and overcome the points deduction. We can't afford a new cb having to come and settle in which is the main reason I was hoping THB would stay above others.
-
No one is paying us either of those fees for those two players.
-
BBD 4 million Edozie 4 million Ramsdale -loan most likely Archer 5 million Bazunu 3 million Sugawara 2 million Maybe a little high but that's 18 million if we can shift them. Combine that with the Armstrong fee, Charles sale and Fernandes sale and you're not far off 70 million if that's really what someone believes we need to raise.
-
That's the first I've heard that we needed to make 70 million this season. Let's not forget Adam Armstrong going in January which was also about 7 I believe. Sugawara, bbd and Edozie we should get at least 10 million for if we can agree sales and not loans. Archer and Bazunu too we should get at least 15-20 for them all.

Agree with that. He's largely a victim of the system that promoted him beyond his abilities and allowed him to continue the multiple lies until it was exposed and became all too much for him to cope with. Rather like when Ann died, many people on social media show themselves up to be absolute helmets revelling in someone's death because they disagreed with their opinions.
-
Why does anyone get upset about something their ancestors did before they were born? Bizarre thing to get hung up about
-
TBF to football Martin he frequently says on his streams that he doesn't really know more than the average fan. Others may portray him that way but I haven't seen anywhere where he has done that.
-
Genuinely not sure how the likes of stoke and Swansea have been able to spend some serious cash this summer. I know we have a higher wage bill and have had to sell Charles for example but surely we don't have the same pressing need now?
-
I don't agree I think he's a big loss but I suppose the main positive if he does go is that we will have known he would be going this summer for a along time so you would hope we would be able to move quickly to bring in a replacement. We will have to because we don't want to be relying on Quarshie, wood, Stephens and kai Sanda for long periods of time.
-
Quite possibly tomorrow will be his swansong. Give him a good send off with a win.
-
I think they are preparing to sell THB. I very much doubt it is to Portugal but you can bet there are a number of clubs interested whose interest has not yet come to light.
-
THB alongside this Anil with Stephens as backup really would have been perfect. If you don't get promoted you can't have nice things.
-
Absolutely no chance we sell him for that. But £25 million I can see if he actually wants to go or maybe someone else will come in and offer 30. We said earlier in the summer he is free to go if we get what we want for him so it's likely he's aware of that. Will be a massive blow if he does, particularly at this stage of the window.
-
The only thing that's going to help fans get over the loss of THB at this stage is someone decent like this bloke followed by Jordan James or someone of similar quality and the Lazio striker.
-
I think so yes and with championship experience too but he'd have to be to replace THB. I wish if he was going he'd have gone the first few weeks of the window. So much more gutting to lose him near the end.
-
I think there's a clear signal here that THB is off. Lots of smoke.

He's been out injured...
