But for United? He wouldn't get a start... let's not forget that he wasn't in our first choice eleven this season. Somewhere like Everton or Fulham would be a better move, but I can't see him playing often enough there either.

Playing devil's advocate, can anyone see a scenario where we get to play on Saturday, win, but get something like a -10 for next season in the Premier League - making it effectively a dead rubber season but saving the club's skin financially? That would be a truly nightmarish scenario, I think I'd rather take our medicine in the Championship even if it's worse in the long term

This isn't something that's going to go away, he'd get dogs abuse up and down the country for at least the rest of this year and the club would be effectively asking fans to excuse and defend a cheat. It would also be the first stick used to beat him with if we are crap next season.
