This is going to get interesting. Firstly, IMO there is no way that the FL could bar Chainrai under their owners & directors test, it is objective in that Chainrai would have needed to be the owner for 2 unconnected insolvency events - which he hasn't. http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/appendix-4_2293633_2128219 So if he is the only one who will step forward and save the phew, then this really is an acid test of the phew and how much they've really learnt over the last few years. The fans themselves will have the power to get rid of Chainrai once and for all by boycotting the club and driving the final nail in the financial coffin - Chinny will have no option but to liquidate himself as he won't keep throwing money into the pit. However if they continue to get gates consummate to the league they are in (i.e. circa 8k in league one) then the phew will shown themselves to be what they really are. No doubt, they will just say that they're true fans supporting the club through thick & thin - but the reality is that they are happy to support one of the characters that has caused so much damage to 'their' club. I feel sorry for TB here, he can see what's coming, and he know's that the phew are going to blame him for selling the club back to Chainrai, but he has no choice - his job is to get the best result for the creditors. It'll be over to the phew, have the fans learnt the lessons of the last 5 or so years?

Got Talksport on at the moment... David Conn of the Grauniad is on in about 5 minutes Peter Storrie is on with keys & Gray on Monday at 12.00, and then gave him the build up of taking them to the cup final & then ruining them financially!
-
Yes missed him as I scanned through (right at the top of the list as well) To busy looking for Rosie to be appearing again I guess...

No names that mean anything to me on there... http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T120302.01.htm

To be fair to them, they worshipped Harry (with his 5%), Avram (with his trousers round his ankles) and Clotterill (who just continually spouted absolute garbage) so I think they possibly right, there is a Pompey spell... ... sadly for the phew, it's not the manager who comes under the spell but the phew themselves. ps think also applies to how the phew view owners and CEO's- after all, who else would give the adoration received by Gaydemak , Al-Fahim, Al-Farage, the Russians, Storrie & Lampitt. Exhibit number one M'Lud - I give you Corp-Ho

Please, someone who is on Twitter, forward that on or re-tweet it to Adrian Durham. Being called a w@*#$+ will guarantee he'll mention it!! But anyway, don't let a headline loss of £53.9m - where they accounted for the payment for Bent but didn't include the payments in for Young or Downing (both undisclosed but Villa were saying they wouldn't let either go for under £20m) and reduced their bank borrowing by £8.3m. Admittedly they did take £25m from Randy Lerner so whilst it isn't the greatest set of results seen, it's nowhere near as bleak as the headline figure. Mind you, they will need to be careful. Lerner won't keep putting that level of funds in - but on the plus side, at least they look after their ground & last I heard they did still own their training facilities.

Not sure that All parachute payments until 2014 are already taken actually makes any sense. We know that they have just received an advance of about £1m on the payment that was due shortly - so has that gone to Gaydemak? To answer my own question, I doubt it because I expect TB is using every last penny that was frozen in their bank account to keep the club afloat. So what arrangement is in place to pay Sasha his money? Surely TB would tell him to stick it and join HMRC in the CVA? Unless... if they had to bribe Sasha to agree the CVA, I would doubt the legality of that so TB has no obligation to honour something that is illegal, and if any proof came to light, I would expect him to be talking to authorities straightaway as that will involve Admin Andy. So most likely, it may be something that they had in place which has now been thrown out by the new administration and the subsequent appointment of TB. If I was a cynical man, I might suggest that this cosy arrangement, if true, is one of the reasons why Chainrai was so keen to get Admin Andy back on the case. Chainrai and Gaydemak colluding with each other, who would have thought of that?! No one's mentioned money laundering for while, have they?

Really started to follow MLB last season. Follow the Marlins (as got family living just north of Fort Lauderdale so the most 'local' team) and also the Indians as one of my friends, although originally from Tulsa, is a massive Indians fan. Thought the Indians did pretty well last year for a fairly young squad, Detroit is the quality team in the division but if the Indians progress, I could see them getting the wild card this season.

Haha Adrian Durham on Talksport... reporting that Pompey reporting (on Twitter I think he said) that they can't update their website today, someone from Stevenage responded that perhaps they could get West Brom to update their website on their behalf! Followed by another quick rant about Pompey basically being supported by West Brom (due to Appleton) as they're paying the wages for loanee's when they shouldn't be bringing them in as they're in admin. Anyone on Twitter and able to confirm what was said?

Keith Harris of Seymour Pearce (sp) is with Keys & Gray on Talksport. Says advises clients not to spend more than 5 to 10% of their net worth when looking at buying a football club. Gives us some idea of what wealth an individual would need to buy the phew... (given the posts above then they'll be looking for £80m as a starting point with everything going their way)

or land on a station can't afford the fare, walk outside to find the transit has been wheel-clamped as you didn't pay for the car park. Take a fine of £100 for release or deduct 3 points for failure to fulfill that away fixture Another community chest card - on the day of a home game, you find 10 gypsy families living in caravans in the stadium car park - your attendance is increased by 10% and you collect £1000 from lucky heather sales in the club shop

The main issue with Craig Whyte's takeover of Rangers is that he borrowed the money (and got it) against the next 3 years season ticket money 2 weeks BEFORE he completed the takeover, and that the money was siphoned through another of his companies (all allegedly of course). For those who don't waste enough of their life on this thread, and who want to follow Rangers trials & tribulations as well, may I suggest this site... http://www.rangerstaxcase.com

You land on the water company, turn the sprinklers on the pitch and ensure that the pitch is frozen by the overnight sub-zero temperatures. Call off the game the following day just early enough that your staff don't have to turn up so you don't pay them but late enough that the away fans are already half way through their journey. Absolve yourself of all blame in the press conference - 'Not our fault guv'

Here's a question for the insolvency experts - who has the burden of proving the debt or not? Does Chinny have the burden of having to prove that he did in fact lend £17m or does the administrator have to prove that he didn't?
-
The sound of pennies dropping maybe, but they're still not there yet Hahahaha, only in the Peter "I'm in front of a judge about to liquidate us" Storrie school of economics given the wages that lot are on.
-
Adrian Durham again quoting Keith Hill's comments from after the game, and saying what a disgrace it was that they were allowed to bring in that loan on Saturday morning even though his wages are being paid by WBA.
-
So I presume that by granting the administration order, they now have access to their bank account which has £2.5m in it, including the advance on the parachute payments. But what do they have to pay out of their outstanding bills? (as they total £4m), or are they ok just paying their way going forward (in which case they'll be ok until the next wagebill falls due)?

Expected to make a decision on the administrator in 30 mins.... 1 hour later & we're still waiting. Some furious pleading going on by one side maybe? Question is, which side?

Hmm interesting article on the problems that Rangers are having, these quotes struck a chord Had they not said Rangers would anyone of known which club they were talking about?
-
Least they reached their break-even figure!

Two clubs that I can see on that list have had 2 'insolvency events' in two years - Aldershot & Scarborough, and both ceased to exist 2nd time round with Shot being wound up by HMRC! Not looking so good... ... oh and I think that list is generous with Poopey's history, I can think of at least another 2 occasions they should appear according to the criteria at the start.
