  1. Donny Chairman on Talksport talking about the referee, another 2 penalties against us today & the third & fourth goals were handball that a blind man could see. Interesting.
  2. ... and remember whilst TBH's wages are £36k per week, the HMRC documents in the football creditor rule case revealed with image rights, he's really costing them £50k per week. So you wonder if its the same for Norris, Varney, Kitson et al.
  3. Sorry, have I missed something. Where exactly were the fans complaining about the signings on big money, and the crowds protesting against the younger players being sold? Talk about re-writing history again....
  4. You could tell that Durham was almost lost for the right words - I was waiting for the expletives to come out!
  5. Just on the wages, talking about the deferals... 5.22 Options in respect of player wages were also explored with the Professional Footballers Association and these resulted in the majority of the playing staff having 25% of their salaries deferred. 5.23 A small number of non-football roles have been moved from full time to part-time. 5.24 The gross value of the monthly deferrals is c£450k. This figure represents a monthly increase in the Football Creditor figure. So 25% of the monthly wage is c450k... so the monthly wage bill is 4 x £450k = £1.8m, annual wage bill is 12 x c£1.8m = c£21.6m Does that include the 4 they've loaned out? Absolutely frightening!
  6. Oh dear... or was that one of us? Sadly I think that will be one of them, and that sums them up completely.
  7. Talking generally on football finance - Championship is a scene of carnage 10-12 losing over £10m 6-7 clubs paying over 100% of wages Many relying on benefactors who can't sustain it Distorts championship which why bringing in financial fair play Mentioned QPR - players like Cisse don't have any clauses if get relegated, Birch likely to move on but sensible to have relegation clauses, but if competing for a player then may not be accepted by the player Benefactor model works in PL - made PL more competitive, closed shop at the top of the league Latest at Fratton Park - talking to 2-3 interested parties & PST, PST might be credible alternative, but no bid on the table.
  8. Trevor Birch is on H&J on Talksport shortly....
  9. Please remember this is the Football League's Family Club of the Year... not forgetting a shortlisting for Community Club of the Year
  10. Just heard on Talksport, I know they've not been on a great run recently but slightly surprised. That said following Eddie Howe was always going to be tough, but they are where I would expect them to be - mid-table in L1.
  11. I wonder if they have shown payments made under the various CVA's? We didn't come out of admin via a CVA - so any payments made to creditors came from a new company set up for the football club. If they have made the payments, would that have been reflected by HMRC's document? Seem's HMRC would be on dodgy ground, procuring this document for the ongoing court case on the football creditors rule and then misleading the court regarding what has been paid.
  12. Now is this something interesting that we didn't know, or poor journalism.... So do we have an unpaid bill from our administration, or are we just one of the clubs that have been in administration? Like many on here, I'd always believed that we had cleared all debts from the administration.
  13. Do not want them anywhere near the English leagues... ever. Scottish are quick enough to shout for independence for their nation (which they will probably stupid enough to vote for if Alex Salmond get his way), they don't want a Team GB at the Olympics, but they want to join our league. I live up here & I'll tell anyone that asks me that they can f uck right off... (might not be brave / stupid enough to that in Glasgae mind!!) So apart from the hypocrisy, the lower league clubs would be stupid to vote for it - they would have one payday before Celtic get to the Championship, it may take them a few seasons to get through the Championship but once in the PL, their natural size will mean they should be able to stay there - so English clubs will lose out. I also would doubt if FIFA would allow it - the first good thing FIFA would have done for a while. And anyway, they can't complain that the Scottish League is too easy for them if Rangers go pop - they couldn't beat Kilmarnock this afternoon in the Scottish League Cup Final.
  14. Had 2 back to back. The first one, I'm a level 7 ref and neither were penalties, then admitted he was at the other end of the ground. Great eyesight from 110 yards away. Pr!ck.
  15. Ian Abrahams (The Moose) on Talksport has apparently tweeted that the refs are conspiring against West Ham and ensuring that we get promoted. ****ing idiot. Let's hope the rest of the West Ham fans are continuing to meltdown as well, they'll pile so much pressure on their team it will crack.
  16. The parachute on the right is obviously parachute money dropping in, but the one on the left? Can't make out the symbol but looks more like the West Brom badge so it's likely to be another loan player being dropped in! Let's hope they all find enough squirrels to eat.
  17. Here's something else to put the 'bestest fans in the world' to shame... now this is what you have to do to be considered... http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/story/_/id/7672386/german-club-dynamo-dresden-sells-stadium-ban Now I know tickets are cheaper in Germany, but the phew have reduced their prices, but that is 32k in the German second division.
  18. If the Portsmouth Takeover Saga book ever gets written, this should be the prologue at the start. Absolutely perfect!
  19. Just heard Adrian Durham say what he posted as I was driving home... nearly crashed as I was laughing so much!!
  20. You're not the only one... they do need to get up this season as Season ticket money for next season is already accounted for Owe at least £21m to Sheffield United between now & 2013 Made £17m trading loss - the article isn't specific on the period but I would hazard a guess that it's probably before Sam's latest signing spree http://www.westhamtillidie.com/2012/02/20/in-conversation-with-david-sullivan-part-6/ Oh, and the debts are over £100m... absolutely scary! No wonder the fans get so tetchy when they can't beat Donny at home.
  21. Oh dear, now 8 points from safety. Any chance of some chintzy left muzak to keep them & this thread company as they head down... ... and mind the gap!
  22. You're right with option 2 - but not for the reasons you've given. PFC gets liquidated, the council buy the land and offer to rent to the phoenix club at a rent they can't afford. Phoenix club goes to Moneyfields, and the council sells out to Tesco to a combined supermarket / affordable housing project and make a tidy profit.
  23. No, it's just more guff & hot air tbh. We'll give them the £200k a month (which they were due anyway) on the proviso that they don't spunk it up against the wall like they have with their other cash. Oh and we'll make sure that any buyer is 'fit & proper', but here is what the owners & directors test covers so we can cover our arses anyway. We did what we could.
  24. Just a slight difference, didn't Peter Reid sell his FA Cup winners medal to try and raise funds for Plymouth... and Pompey have done... er yeah, exactly.
  25. Not sure if I managed to post this view yesterday, so apologies if I've stated this before. Chainrai now appears to be the one and only potential saviour, if (and it is a big if) Chainrai takes over again, then the future of PFC will be in the phews hands. When Lowe took control, we had a number of fans boycott the club and if the rumours are to be believed, the lack of support for Lowe undermined the financial position and we lost the confidence of the bank who then pulled the plug. The phew, if they continue to support the club, will be able to keep the wounded beast going for Chainrai's benefit as they'll probably slip to L1 and possibly L2 before he'll have extracted enough out of the carcass. Maybe if they're lucky, he may even allow a fans buy-out. Alternatively, if they want to get back at Chainrai then they could boycott the club, screw him financially and force the liquidation so he loses money. Of course, they'll have to lose their club and go with plan B. Tough choice for them, do they continue to support the loan shark with the possibility of a continued slow death, or lose their club in the short term but get financial revenge on Chainrai? It will be an acid test of how many of them have actually learnt anything from the last few years. Either way, it's going to be continued fun and enjoyment from our perspective. Oh and talking of entertainment, Storrie-teller is on Talksport between 12 & 1 with Keys & Gray if anyone is interested.
