  1. Don't forget Merson's judgement is going to be clouded by the fact he played for that mob down the road...
  2. Just listening to a Spanish journalist talking about Pochettino on Talksport - gave him very high praise, compared him with Laudrup at Swansea. That said, absolutely shocked by the decision, after a dodgy start I thought NA was getting to grips with being a Prem League manager. We need to be careful and not do a Chelsea - stay behind the team during the 90 minutes and keep the One Nigel Adkins chants to before, half time and after the game.
  3. Apparently this came from TV3 Catalunya... saw it on Sky Sports news website papertalk earlier this afternoon, although that's now updated from considering to is set to sign. http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/foreign-papertalk
  4. What a result... listening to the radio hearing Buttner playing for Manyoo, such a shame if we'd signed him and Shaw hadn't got his opportunity. Funny how things turn out!
  5. Now confirmed that Appy is the new Blackburn manager with Ashley Westwood as his assistant - both on 2.5 year deals
  6. Blackburn fan on Talksport at the moment talking about the potential appointment of Appy "We've got to do what we've always done which is get behind whoever the board appoint" er.... Steve Kean anyone? Shows its not just pompey fans with a blinkered view of their own selves!
  7. So much blind faith... that is largely what helped get their fanbase into this position, yet still they follow the PST without asking any questions.
  8. Just beat me to it Trousers... one of my mates who I've been educating on the pompey ways for a while just posted it on my facebook wall. Brilliant.
  9. Obviously excited at the though of playing for a real team in January...
  10. So there are some characters that he doesn't want then... that'll help morale as they all try to guess if it's them
  11. Well if that was a 'victory' for plucky pompey then they're in for shock when they finally lose. Where's that photo of the nuke being detonated over farton?
  12. But surely if the judge gives his opinion today on the value of the ground then the purpose of the hearing has been attained so there is no point in a 28 day adjournment? They set aside 2 days to hear representation from both sides so he can't (or shouldn't) form an opinion just yet as that representation hasn't happened yet. It will be adjourned, either for 28 days as requested or until they can get a new court date (IMO).
  13. So to sum today, it transpires that... The PST have tried to get the club away from people with no money & who just want to make a fast buck out of it, and in doing so have got into bed with a property developer with no money & who probably just wants to make a fast buck. What odds on the ice cream seller appearing as part of the PDT next - wasn't he Dubai's Donald Trump?
  14. They can't raise sufficient funds through the fans... so now needs to be an open property developer takeover?
  15. They certainly will need to give the judge the reason for wanting an adjournment, but I reckon this won't be done in open court - i.e. no-one bar the judge and legal teams will be there so the public won't necessarily find out the reason.
  16. Won't be hard at all!! Easy this running a football club as profits are easy to come by at pompey, and they won't ever go into administration even once... or twice... or....
  17. Exactly, from the article However, it is understood that no discussions have so far taken place between the relevant legal teams to avert the court date, If chinny had no chance, then there would be a deal in place or close to being in place by now.
  18. I think we're being harsh them expecting them to read the rulebook, remember Harry was manager there and can't read & writes like a 5 year old. Probably explains why pompey on line only had 17 users, that's the whole population of portsea island that are able to work a computer!
  19. Agree completely, playing 9 out of the top 10 in your first 11 games has to be one of the toughest starts ever! We've now taken 9 points from 12 against sides in the bottom half, Adkins deserves credit for working on the back line and showing faith in Gazza and Shaw and the back. No doubt Jack Cork is having a big influence, sitting in front of the back 4 and I am concerned that we don't have any cover for him but confidence must be pretty high after back to back wins.
  20. In fact losing streak was 4 if you include League Cup
  21. We went 7 without a win in the league at the start of 2009-10 (2 defeats & 5 draws), but did have a Carling Cup win and loss in there as well. Longest losing streak was 3 in September 2010 straight after Pardew left.
  22. And Coventry!
  23. Went there a few years ago, loads of small bars/clubs around the main square. Try the CK Browar about 5 mins walk from the main square - it's west out of the north end of the main square and the entrance to the basement bar on the corner across the first main road that you come to. Its a micro-brewery so serves its own beer - it is table service only and get pretty busy so get there early (& don't try standing at the bar - they'll probably throw you out for that!!) but also has TV screens usually showing some sport. Have a great time, Krakow is a great city.
  24. Sad to hear that he is now clinically brain dead, and just awaiting a final family decision to switch off life support. A great boxer in his time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20474183
  25. So the great media w4nkfest starts again over Redkrapp... on Talksport just now, Tony N'Chenzo (sp) the QPR reporter how Redknapp spotted the attacking prowess in Bale and moved him from left back to a more attacking position... no mention that he was about to ship him out to Forest and only played him there as spuds had an injury crisis, but don't let the facts get in the way of media fawning. Apparently QPR are mid table already.
