  1. Much worse off, been made redundant twice in last 6 years & had to take a lower paid job each time so now being paid less than I was 6 years ago.
  2. What!!! not even a nomination for fan of the year, but they're the bestest... must be scummahs on the panel making sure they don't win, or maybe the panel were just sent an email instructing them to vote against them. Blimey, not even a nomination in the Perform Best Use of Digital category, surely the 2013 calendar should be recognised for genius that it is, or maybe the trust prospectus (if only there was a category for best use of digital resembling something put together by an under 11). Conspiracy I tell you... even the lifetime award has gone to an ex-scummah. Wonder how many tables they've booked this year?
  3. Bury 1-0 up!!
  4. Nice to see Appleton's gracious comments after the Blackburn Burnley derby today, obviously remembering everything he learnt down the road.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21732287
  5. Can you source that information? There was an interesting interview conducted by one of the West Ham websites with David Gold (I think, may have been Siullivan) just over a year ago in which he gave some pretty straight answers on their financial position including borrowing against future revenue. The article has subsequently been pulled, but would be interesting to get an update. So if you've read that in an article, can you provide a link?
  6. Looks like he's still at it despite being got rid of by Newcastle http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-21802166 Seems like the boy just can't or won't learn his lesson.
  7. And according to the snooze, Connolly was responsible for the rousing half time team talk on Saturday so you wonder how long Whittingham & Awford would have been there for if they could afford to pay them off...
  8. Err not sure about that bit Neil, seem to remember the PFA insisting on their members being paid or something daft like that...
  9. Football's a game of ups and downs And pompey can make anyone frown Being skates they have fins Which allow them to swim But it's in a sea of debt that they'll drown God I'm bored!! Roll on 3 o'clock and come on Barney
  10. Interesting piece about Ellyse Perry - Aussie opening bowler & international centre back. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/21476365
  11. Anyone with access to POL able to find out what 'technicality' it allegedly got pulled on - if that technicality wasn't being factually incorrect?
  12. Exactly, horse is eaten in a number of countries and there's nothing wrong with it. It is whether it is fit for human consumption. In fact, if you go to Holland and buy rookvlees (smoked meat and nothing to do with rooks!) it will either be beef or horse - and the horse is the better quality and tastier choice.
  13. But remember the PST will still be 51% owners of... something... maybe...
  14. Now try that but putting some fresh chopped green chilli between the ham & egg.
  15. No way!! QPR really are becoming Harry's home for pompey waifs and strays!! So with Tal Ben Haim brought in to steady a PL defence despite not having been good enough in the Championship, and Clotterill now in as Head of Post Match Media Communications, what next? I fully expect Avram to employed as Head of Massage Development and Liam Lawrence as Ticket Office Sales Manager. Tony Fernandes must be either mad, wondering why the flip he employed Redflapps or wishing he'd bought pompey instead.
  16. At the end of the day, we well know that FL will do whatever they want - as pointed by others it's a private club.
  17. Oh, and I forgot to add... if the FL now allowed another bidder to proceed having ruled out the Keith Harris bid as not enough time to complete, do you really think that Chinny would take that lying down? He'd have the FL up in court quicker than PKF can get court cases adjourned! It was odd reason for the FL to give for not allowing the bid, however in ruling that way, they have shut that particular door.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21376866 That statement would appear to rule out any other bid - the PST have to succeed and get it done by the end of the season otherwise the toasters are out.
  19. Would have thought he was too busy trying to rescue Seymour Pierce, his existing company. But I suppose if they do go into administration then they'll fit well down the road!http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/9844247/Seymour-Pierce-in-11th-hour-rescue-talks.html
  20. That, in a nutshell, sums up the trust and pompey in general. The strings attached made it impractical (i.e. the PL would never agree or even discuss parachute payments being paid direct to the council which is one of the terms of the loan). Nothing has changed amongst those strings - they are still attached. But no, the pst decide to have a different view. The whole world will be rosier because they'll get relegated to a lower league (I can hear the cries of 'we'll walk this league' in the pst meetings now!) and magically they'll get even better gates because they're the bestest after all. Let's just totally ignore that they'll be a struggling L2 side. Never let the facts get in the way though....
  21. Had their fans been truely erudite, then they should have been questioning the spending long before October
  22. I believe it was two airports or one airport with 2 separate terminals - allowing for the two countries fans to be kept apart. Cardiff will be out but think Glasgow will be okay (they have 2 terminals I believe), Manchester has 3 terminals so will be okay as well, but as only one stadium per country will be used, Wembley will be chosen by the FA.
  23. That was Division 4 in old money (i.e. League 2 nowadays)
  24. As far as I can gather since it's been 3 points for a win, it's Cambridge United in 1984/85 with 21 points http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/Points/0,,10794~634798,00.html
  25. There may be a certain amount of that but the other difference is that (as far as I'm aware and stand to be corrected) Wright-Phillips, Dyer, Barnard & Seabourne all had no previous and played for teams at various levels on a fairly regular basis - Nile Ranger is multiple offender who has barely made a subs bench since leaving the youth team.
