  1. We obviously had a good defensive record last year but the caveat is that in about 20 out of 23 games at St Mary's, the opposition didn't attack, they left one up front and just defended. When we were put under pressure in away games, I felt that Davis at times, but in particular Harding and Seaborne were found wanting and if it were down to me, neither of those two would be first choice in my back 4. Lots seem to assume that the NPC will be a fest of flowing football fromt he opposition but it really won't be - more teams will come to SMS thinking they can win but the standard is not going to be Barcelona, there is still going to be lots of hoofing it forward. This is why I'd go with a back 4 of Richardson - Fonte - Jaidi - Dickson. To be fair, it doesn't matter which of our right backs play. If we could sign a new left footed centre back then I would and sell Seaborne on - you watch him the next time the ball is pinging round our box - he'll be the one asking what day it is.

  3. It boiled down to taking my lad to either this or the Torquay game in the League Cup - therefore the competitive game won out as couldn't afford both. Also, cost was too high for this and he doesn't have the attention span for the format on offer today.
  4. Dunno if this has been covered elsewhere but rule change sucks. How can they bring it in a week before the season starts when managers have prepared their squad sizes, partly on the need to have 7 subs. Bring it in for next year then fine.

  6. Totally agree. Schneiderlin has most ability and is also the least effective.
  7. Spine of team last year was ..... Davis.... ok but not brilliant - anyone remember his near post-itis from the end of last season. Fonte & Jaidi - yes to Fonte and Jaidi will be fine. People seem to think the nPC is some sort of fabulous league where everyone plays like Barcelona. It isn't and many of the teams will still hoof it down the middle Hammond - as long as he plays as the defensive midfielder, he'll be fine. Schneiderlin ???? - Hell of a lot to prove in my book. More ability than most but doesn't use it effectively enough. We had our best form last year when he was out injured. Lambert - yes, reckon he'll get 20 goals again this year My prediction for player of next year - Guly. He'll be settled in England now and settled around the club. He has loads of ability and will be exceptional this year.
  8. Adkins is basically saying that Gobern is an ungrateful bastard. Good luck to him but not shedding any tears over this one. Goodbye Ninja
  9. Pre Season Part 1 - Warning: Not Exciting... www.leagueoneminus10.blogspot.com
  10. Eventually though , people stop turning up to gigs and playing live is where the money is these days. If your lifestyle affects your live show then sooner or later you are screwed.
  11. The way Matt Mills was treated was horrendous. Whenever he played he looked good yet he ended up behind Jacobsen and Davenport in the pecking order - two of the worst defenders we've ever had. We did however get a modest fee for him, as we did with Dexter Blackstock. Woudl like to have seen Mark Peters get given a go. By all accounts he was a dickhead but you never know, throw him in and he may have been brilliant.
  12. Is that Amos the keeper who played for Oldham against us and let in 6 including one that went in his mouth down inside and out through his ass. Yeah, I can see why we'd want him to compete with Forecast for the 3rd keeper shirt.
  13. This is the Jason puncheon season review from my blog.... JASON PUNCHEON started the ****lapping season on the right wing and was simply dreadful. Looked unfit and entered like he didn’t care. He missed open goal after open goal and then got fist****ed when the crowd got fed up with it. Virtually the first act when Nigel "Assrush" Adkins came into the ****ing (oh yes) was to set Jason some KPIs and these were “shoot in the general direction of the ass****ing goal occasionally” and “stop being a charvering sulky ****”. Having failed on both scores, he was dropped in favour of an only-just-17 year old and he threw his sucks out and got loaned out to Millwall where bizarrely, he banged in a fingering few goals. A shafting brief return to us raided which included a decent game in the FA Cup v Blackpool who then signed him for the remainder of their Premier League campaign where he has again done ok. Technically still our player but we won’t see him back here as long as he has a hole in his ass. Not happy with being a ****licking squad player and in all likelihood, a fisting voice to Nigel’s plan of squad unity so bye.... and rightly so. It would be the ****ing best outcome all round if we got rid of him and squirting over £400k would represent good business for the fingering club.
  14. I think Blackpool and Birmingham will go.....
  15. Jamie did well for us. I remember watching him in that Man Utd game and he kept trying til the 90th minute even though he was clearly in agony. Had a lot of time for him since then. That was the Wgigley, Davenport and Bernard season.... makes me shudder just thinking about it

  17. 100% agree. he's total garbage... Green and Upson aren't much better either
  18. West Ham - mainly because the Dildo boys have gambled their entire existence on getting a 'cheap' ground off the 2012 Olympics and don't give a flying one about their fans. Blackburn - because of the Allardyce decision Wigan - tin pot, **** pit
  19. tribalfootball is the biggest pile of **** ever. According to them, Chamberlain moved about 6 times in January.

    Hammond

Since we stopped playing him as at attacking midfeilder he's been excellent. He wins tackles and headers and plays it simple. He's too slow on the turn to play further forward. Interesting that his best run of form came when Morgan got injured meaning that he had to play defensive midfield with Chaplow bombing on. Would like to see Morgan play in front of Hammond and trying to create / score goals. He's easily good enough to do this. Think Hammond has had a superb season to be honest. A vital cog in the machine.
