Very happy with the draw - one I think we can win! Father in law is a Rotherham fan so get regular news regarding their progress (or not as the case may be) Financially we look very sound compared to them although they have the makings of a decent team

Thomson has scored for the reserves tonight - re staking his claim. I like the fact that Jan seems happy to keep the same team when they have played well - and they know that if they don't do well then someone who has been working hard in training or playing well for the reserves will have earned their chance

Oy - I'm from Farnham!! .... although you're probably right about the plastic fans - there were only three Southampton fans at my school, but trying to buy a shirt etc was a nightmare unless you travelled to Southampton.

It's good to be able to focus on the football. even if there may well be defeat ahead it's easier to accept if you feel the team is giving its all and also if you see that progress is being made. No matter what the results are I think the team and management need full support throughout the season - it could be a long slog! (there again a winning start could give the confidence to put us up with the shakers)
