IMF study finds inequality is damaging to economic growth
solentstars replied to Ex Lion Tamer's topic in The Lounge
no surprise to me thats why the super rich fund political partys and newspapers to propagate the view they are hard done by and rubbish like trickle down economics. from the 1950s to the late 1970s the gap was shrinking between rich and poor and it makes more sense to put money in to the bottom and middle income groups to spend rather than those who are just adding to there pot and avoiding tax all together. -
Agree because I think that is much harder on there warped minds then a quick murder for revenge we would be sinking to there levels of thuggery and has they want death let's not make them martyrs .I expect they will top themselves in the end. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

Don't think euro election s really matter has the turnout is usually poor and its normally only the diehards go to vote has most of us don't really know what the meps do.I am old enough to have voted in the 1975 whether we wanted to stay in the EEC when 67% voted to stay.even if there was another vote I expect that it will still not sort the issue out has certain groups will still not respect the result.I believe its better to work with like minded country's like Germany Holland etc and reform from the inside rather than watching from the sidelines than seeing other countries make rules which will effect us and we would be unable to influence. Decent reply but I still believe the rise of ukip had more to do with unlimited migration from eastern Europe under Blair when the economy was booming and we had skill shortages plus also the fact that we are a ageing population and need younger migrants to pay our pensions obligations for the current generations.I also believe has the economic conditions improve a lot of the protest vote in ukip will return to the party's they use to support and will benefit the consertives most. that's all its and buts unfortunately people in power have got to deal with the real world and real situations.has for ukip the biggest danger is to split the mainly conservative vote .let's face it before farage became leader again they were a busted flush. Sorry I'm still waiting for a real solutions rather than easy rhetoric and slogans. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

Call there bluff unbelievable. So we want to have full rights for trading but nothing else so what's the point of being in a club if everyone does there own thing. get real let's have a real plan from those who want us out on how they achieve this and timescale and how they will entice investors to a country outside its main market. Good post but unlikely to be believed by ukip fans .the truth is we spend 5 times more on housing benefit than social housing and would make more sense building more social housing to me and the fact we lost over a million council house on the right to buy in the 80s and were never replaced has lead to the shortages and waiting lists we have today. i dont know anything about the ins or out and its up to the scots to decide but i do know that they still want to be a member of the eu and i think will vote to stay with us.and we will be stronger has a country with the scots beside us.we are in a global world now and need global solutions to sort out problems climate change ,trade tariffs etc.like i said what are the benefits to us outside our largest tradeing block and what influence would we have business deals and breaking down tariffs in asia, usa etc on our own ....reminds me of the old film the mouse that roared. i,m not prepared to throw away my job on a fantasy world view.

i think i rather deal with the reallity of the eu rather than what joe bloggs thinks will be aland of milk and honey with nothing to support that assumption.i don,t see the point of leaving unless we can benifit and seen no evidence to support that yet.

I think Barrie forgets that the working man has benefited from a lot from things like the social chapter and other rules.the fact is that its a single market and freedom of movement is one of the corner stones of the EU.we get alot of skilled labour and investment in our industry's from France Germany and India and I would think if we left they would move over to mainland EU over the longer term which would lose working people jobs here.the worlds moved on from 1950s type rhetoric. I understand you are following your heart but I d rather deal with reality until some one can explain how we will be better off leaving the EU rather than rhetoric .I prefer listening to our business community about our interests has they pay our bills at the end of the day . I agree I remember pre EU days when we put up to 25 ℅ tariffs on cars entering the UK has we could not compete and try to protect inefficient industries and poor quality products at higher prices . Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

To be fair as are not a small player like Denmark and Switzerland. We are the worlds 6 the biggest country in terms of wealth . I think that its a global economy now days and we can not hide from it.we need to export and deal with trading block s and we have more influence by being a member of EU. That will only happen if we leave the EU and then we will still have to implement EU rules to trade in the single market without any say has countries outside will tell you. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

Without farage ukip would not register has a party.it don't matter what clegg says on Europe even if he wins the debates.most of farages rhetoric weather true or not he will play to the gut feeling of a lot of Brits we can cut ourselves of europe and rule ourselves and it will be like a land of milk and honey. Would You Care If Pochettino Left Tommorow?

Agree I very happy with our progress and we will be stronger next season.I hope he stays because we might end up with a big Sam west ham manager and hoof ball boring football that the trolls think gets results. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk -

Not surprised the trouble is we had 30 years of misinformation from the Tory lapdog papers from nonsence stories. To think some people voting ukip with all the lunatics that party possess is the answer to our ills suggest we are starting to live in a fantasy land . Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

To many players had a off day but you can see the lynch mob mentality from the usual suspects. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

Just thought we looked tired and a lot of our key players did not perform.if Lambert had scored when he had a open goal I think we would have found the extra energy to win but it took a fantastic goal from Sunderland to win it and they have also been on a good run. Good player despite the usual suspects putting him down. I hope he gets a one year extension for next year.I think people forget he was bought has a midfielder but can play a few positions . Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
