Obviously we can't know - but even if he had stayed I think it would be the same here. The problem isn't ability it seems to be mentality. He plays like someone who despite being good, just doesn't love the game.

Would they really just drop Baz now this new guy has joined? Can't see it happening. They'll wait for him to make a mistake first.. I mean, another mistake.

And yet nobody at the club can see the problem. He'll still be in goal for the next game..

It does feel that way. Every manager rigidly plays the same system despite the results. Just like with Baz who despite being statistically terrible, remains in goal. Surely all the managers we've appointed don't have just ONE idea about how to play football. Even if you kept appointing like-minded managers, one of then would eventually buck the trend. A few games ago I hoped Tonda might stand up and find is own voice. Unfortunately that now looks impossible. If we continue as we are I can't see him lasting after the Pompey game. Simply because fan sentiment and anger toward the club at that point will intensify and the owners will be forced to act as they eventually did under RM.

Unfortunately Tonda does not appear to have any new ideas after all.

Clearly some players are under performing. But as has been mentioned in post match chat from last game, we've not go much that can come in and improve it. Squad is overrated.

It sounds like Tonda watched our early season footage and decided to revert back to that instead of continuing the improvements.

Tonda still has credit with me. Needs to show he can recognise the problems and fix them. And i don't think that's an overnight fix. I'd like to see him backed a little in the transfer window. And hopefully we can offload some of the deadwood. But that may be unrealistic. Ultimate due to poor management prior and generally clueless ownership we are in a messy situation. But again, I don't blame Tonda for that. I hope he has the confidence to find his own voice and not just be a yes man. But we do not know what happens behind the scenes.. People just assume the worst.

I totally agree. Tonda has earned some credit and has shown that he can get a performance out of us. I think the squad is a bigger problem. Too much deadwood, players going through the motions. Lack of the right mentality. And yes, the manager can help with that.. but we are looking at some players here who it's ingrained too deep. Just need to get shot.

Just too much deadwood in this team. The likes of Romeu, Fraser and Archer coming off the bench isn't going to change a game at this level. It's just an expensive waste. We need to try and offload in January and bring in some new faces with pace. Can't see it happening though.
