I fear sacking him will make no difference. The rot is still well and truly set in, and it's deeper than the manager. They'll just appoint another idiot.
-
I don't expect us to get relegated. But I do expect us to lose the next game heavily against Leeds (Piroe Hat Trick) which will make it 5 defeats. At some point that has to stop, or I'll have to change my expectations.
-
RM hasn't been unable to arrest the slide since the 5-0. He put out a better team today, with players in their positions. But even that hasn't been enough. Honestly most of the time the players look like they can't be arsed. How did we actually win 3 games?
-
Bring back Ralph! I reckon he could do it if he was willing.
-
The new players have come into a disjointed team who were already low on confidence. With the right manager, improvement is possible. But RM doesn't seem to be the motivational kind, who can inject energy and belief. To shake off the cobwebs of last year and get us looking forwards and upwards. He's utterly boring to listen to most of the time. None of the players have brought into his ideas; and why should they? He's a nobody manager with no record of success anywhere.
-
Basically, despite some improvements, today could easily have been 3 or 4-1 and yet another thrashing. And still could be. Need a manager who can inject some belief in the team not send them to sleep.
-
Yes like what we've seen from Leeds and Leicester.
-
Probably, yes. 3-1 or something.
-
He's made 1.5 appearances. Still too early to place him in the same category as AMN.
-
Whenever we score, I expect us to concede shortly afterward. Whenever the opposition score, I fully expect them to go on and get a second right away. Ah, to be a Saints fan...
-
We've done ok. But lost concentration for a moment and we're punished. The danger now is we mentally crumble second half. It doesn't take much.
-
Imagine if we had a manager who just played players in their correct position. We seem to go from one lunatic to the next.
-
True. What I was getting at was they are notorious for not taking the right action. They sacked Ralph and replaced him with 2 crap managers. If they sack RM eventually, they'll probably appoint someone managing a midtable League One side!
-
Players clearly demotivated. Some of the suffering Premier league hangover. The rest probably wondering why RM was appointed in the first place. Bored of listening to him drone on... Need to do something to inject some drive and enthusiasm and organisation into the team. Boro to get their first win next game.
-
Once again SR have mismanaged the whole thing. Did we expect anything different after last seasons joke? Mid table mediocrity beckons. They are notorious for not taking action when it's going badly. Utterly depressing season ahead again.. 😒
-
He's still our player. The loan was the right move for him to get senior games. Can come back stronger.
-
We've dropped down a league. So it's even more embrassing.
-
Whatever RM is trying to do, I hope it starts working soon...
-
Ipswich are going to love it tonight. Remember even a schoolboy scored against us.
-
Playing Charles at CB with Holgate and Bednarek on the bench? Madness.
-
Wow, a team plays to his strengths and he scores.
-
Saints have forgotten what a clean sheet looks like. For well over a year we've looked like conceding with almost every attack and at any level. Piroe will do well, but presently we can only dream of reaching half time 1-0 up.
-
Still.. Nice to see Edozie showing some end product and hitting the target. Hopefully he can start scoring 4-5 a game to compensate.
-
To say we are naive is idiotic. Is he saying that we should have expected to concede 9 in two games and all his build up about learning lessons and having a reset after Sunderland, was just cloak and daggers? As if he expected this result today.
-
Martin has no decent track record to show he's a good manager. Why did the club think it would be any different here? How many more heavy defeats will they take and still back him? He's deluded. Talking about learning lessons and wanting to bounce back. Like we did after Sunderland? He's proud of the players for losing 4-1?
