Hope you're right. p.s Thinking about what we need, leaves me anxious not suicidal. I have accepted that Rasiak and Saga will leave and if they dont leave immediately how much will they offer us against there will so to speak. So lets say they leave we are really left with the bare bones and arguably needing 7 players? GK - Sorted RB - James (Murty possibly) if not Cover needed LB - Harding (Molyneux, not good enough imo) Cover needed CB - Perry (Can he play every week? Unlikely) Lancashire to cover CB - Thomas Cover or better needed RM - Sorted (Lallana, Thomson and McLaggon) LM - Mills and Holmes (Holmes stays fit then sorted) if not cover or better needed MF - Schneiderlin Cover or better needed MF - Gillet (Wotton can cover) ST - Patterson Cover or better needed ST - White Cover or better needed

I think alot of people feel the same - lots of "I will be happy to stay up" and "I will be happy with mid table" talk now appearing. Shame as I still think we are only 5 players (maybe 6) from having a decent chance this year (even with the -10) Hopefully some announcements soon that will boost our confidence.

Just me and BARCELONASAINT

You maybe right, but on paper some of the signings look very good - Matthew Gill signed from Exeter, comes with good references. Owain Tudur-Jones from Swansea spent last season on loan with Swindon and they were very keen to buy him. Then you have proven quality with Simon Whaley, Holt and Stephen Hughes Add these to players like Stefanovic, Otsemobor and Cureton already at the club and I think they will be contenders this year?

You speak for all Saints fans do you? Strange that as I know for a fact that a number of Saints fans are very worried about the lack of squad additions.
-
we are all frustrated by the lack of activity, but lets not take it out on each other please Bob

Just seen on SSN that Norwich have completed the clubs 8th and 9th signings this summer - we have lost 9 so not feeling so hopeful about the top 2 right now.

When have I said I want it all overnight? I have just wanted a few materials bought and maybe the foundations dug - after all we have people moving in, in 1 week (season starts)

Link to that August quote? Only quotes I can find are "Squad long way from being ready for Millwall" says Pardew (6 days ago) "Wheels in motion for backroom appointments" (6 days ago) Plus the echo said "SAINTS boss Alan Pardew is planning more signings before the season starts" (7 days ago)

Still confused about the egg on my face comment? The club has survived - get over it!! old news now I now want us to push on and become a team to be proud of again - thats all
-
I would be gutted if that happened! Egg truley would be all over my face!!

How?

Cheers for the picture loan

You're Mr Content

I just hope that AP isn’t as content as you. In fact I know he won’t be, I know this because - he has said the squad/team is not good enough - he wanted John to stay - he would have wanted to bring in a few of his targets by now - he would surely have wanted the backroom staff sorted by now - he wants to finish top 2, this wont happen with our current players - he will lose Rasiak and Saga soon (by all accounts) - we have no proven forwards at the club (that want to stay)
-
Dreadful isn’t it!! There is an old saying that some on here buy into (think it was Shakespeare who said?) “If you get kicked in the face a few times, you start to like a kick in the face and will be happy for Saints to rot in league 1 for a few years”
-
Yes I did see that bit – fingers crossed.
-
Except AP said he wanted to finish top 2?
-
Your point will be lost on some here – following the takeover and appointment of AP, I hoped we would continue to ride the wave of optimism (A lot of people have bought season tickets because of the renewed ‘hope’) This wave has gone pretty flat and we are in danger of drowning in league 1 unless we bring in some quality. I don’t want to start thinking about just staying up – this was supposed to be a new start (better times) not same old same old
-
Let’s get this right – I have no issues with AP’s ambition – he has said top 2 this year….I am happy with that. It’s your ambition I have issues with.
