Good question ref Poch and him being selected for the USA team. I don’t have any knowledge on their squad and what players they have available.

It won’t put me off, I’m too old for that. As long you can respect different / opposing opinions, whether you agree with them or not, that’s what it’s all about. On a related note, he thought out of Jander and Scienza , Jander would be the one to standout especially if we get promoted. I’m now ready for the next wave of messages🤣🤣.

Weird thing is that I met him at the Leverkusen ground/hotel for the Bayer v Dortmund game. He had to go the game with some of his business clients (Dortmund fans). Leverkusen and Cologne are rivals if you didn’t know(15 min train journey between the two places).

Probably quite a few in America, unless there was a lot of protest voting going on. -
Just relaying what I was told (note 2 hour plus conversation, we spoke about Downs for literally a couple of minutes, probably because we agreed he was poor). I'm sure there must have been some Monaco fans who questioned how many games Carrillo played for them. Football is all about opinions. As I said in my earlier post, hope he does come good. I just can’t see any “sparks” at the moment , which makes me think he could or will turn it around. Anyway, moving on……🤣

Didn’t need to remind him of how many he scored or assisted. He believes the 2nd tier of the Bundesliga is very poor at the moment, with the exception of a few teams none would survive in the Championship. Personally, from what Ive seen of Downs, what are his strengths? I can’t see him making it, hopefully I’m proven wrong as we need another forward. On a separate note, from the German football I’ve seen, with the exception of the top 1/3 of the Bundesliga, I think most teams would struggle in the premiership. The difference between the Premiership and the Bundesliga has increased considerably over the last 20 years. The speed of the game in England is much faster. However, there are a lot of players with good technique.

I got speaking to a Cologne fan last weekend whilst in Germany. Quite a knowledgeable guy who was in their youth team in mid 80’s. Anyway, just having a general conversation about football. Told him I was a Southampton fan, he responded with a laugh and said he couldn’t believe we bought Downs! He still can’t believe how he played so many times for Cologne.

When he started to miss random games, I wondered if it would be something like Crohn’s or colitis. If I recall correctly, I think it was Darren Fletcher at Man United, who started to miss games whilst being diagnosed and getting under control. I also have Crohn’s, even when controlled, it’s the fatigue what can have such an impact on your day-to-day life. If Flynn does have one or the other, even if it’s controlled, he will still miss games this and In future seasons.

Take it, that you’re not a fan of Trump! -
After reviewing hours of match-day footage of Bazunu, I can confirm he’s crap. When he leaves Southampton, may end up in the championship but most likely div 1 or 2. However, there are rumours that both him and McCarthorse will be fighting for the Saints number 1 position for the next 20 years. The other rumour is that Paul Jones will come in as the specialised goalkeeper kicking coach to help take Baz to the next level.

Agree with him being out of his depth. Partially agree about the players being useless. Just to use as an example, if David Moyes had these players, I guarantee he would have picked up more points. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some crap players, a few who are no where near Championship level.

No surprise, been evident after the first few games that we have no pattern / style of play. Can’t score, can’t defend, recipe for disaster.

My in depth analysis of Downs is…..he’s the biggest pile of shit we’ve had for some time. Yes, and we have had some shit recently.

Both individually and as a team we were extremely poor. Confidence will be low. Can anyone see us getting a win in the next couple of games? I have serious concerns as to whether the manager can turn this round, as per last week I can’t see a ‘style’ of play. I know it’s early days, and I really hope Will can turn it around, but at the moment I can’t see that happening. My thoughts are…..we are going to continue losing far more games than we win and draw combined over the next 10 games. We will struggle to score based on whoever plays upfront. Will won’t be the manager by start of January. As mentioned above, I hope I’m proven wrong but I don’t have any positive ‘vibes’ of how this is going to play out!

Just back home after a nightmare journey back to Shropshire. Great day watching a shower of shit with no passion. Early days, but I can’t see a style of play - I remember Pocha coming in and you could see straight away, even with Martin you knew what we going to do (whether you liked it or not). From today….limited or no passion, leadership??, decision and timing of subs, will we score from open play??, could go on but I can’t be bothered. Today could have kicked started our season but …….
