It'll be nice to see us win a few matches for a change! Where have I heard that before? Oh...

What are Saints players current transfer values

But the prospective purchasers aren't exactly queuing up are they? -

Not in the last couple of months. If we have we should have bitten their hands off. When you people realise that all other clubs know what trouble we are in and will pick the bones clean if they can. The vultures are circling. -
Wot - no Hoddle? It seems some of us are at last accepting reality - a bitter pill I agree but the first stage of any fightback We must accept where we are now and react accordingly.

Look - the administatror will accept any reasonable offers for any player. Just to help us survive in the short term. It's a classic buyer's market. These valuations being bandied about are nonsense. We need to accept where we are - in the sh1t, and every other club knows it. -
I see David Moyes thinks that Mike Riley is a Man U fan. I have thought this for some time, and his performance in the cup at SMS this season just confirmed that for me. Totally biased IMHO.
-
Trouble is, even though I have the match on Sky in the other room, I can't bring myself to watch any more. At least I don't have to suffer abuse from the Northam for having had enough. But I'll still be there at SMS on Monday.

If we start on -10 points next season in League 1 (not certin I know) I honestly fear for our survival in that division as we will likely lose the better players in our current squad. We shouldn't underestimate the quality of teams in League 1 as we underestimated the Championship a few years ago.

As I said, we were established until McMenemy took us back down! Clear now? D'oh!
-
I remember where I was when I heard we'd sighned Keegan too - I was working in a firm in Shirley Road. I bumped into the bloke who told me at SMS on Saturday - first time I'd seen him in ages. I know what LM did for us, but Ted Bates took us from NOWHERE in his time, from obscurity to the top half of the elite, and all I'm saying is that many people have forgotten.

You can add Charlie George and Peter Rodrigues to your list of fading stars. Ask yourself this - Where were they transferred to when they LEFT Saints? FA Cup 1976 Round 3 - Aston Villa (Finished that season 16th in Div1) OK good win aet in replay Round 4 - Blackpool (Div 2) Round 5 - WBA (Div 2) Round 6 - Bradford C (Div4) Semi-Final - C Palace (Div 3) I do know what I'm talking about - maybe some other people have selective memories
-
I was only stating a fact. Yes he did win us the FA Cup in 76, but we really only had serious opposition in the final. Yes he could talk a lot of fading stars into spending their declining years at Saints, collecting a runners-up spot on the way, but that was hardly building for the future. And so it proved.
-
Please don't rewrite history - that was Ted Bates The first thing McMenemy did for us was get us relegated. This sort of misconception is why Ted never seems to get the recognition he deserves - its all too long ago for most people to remember.

She? Who's she? Is Mark Fry a woman? We should be told
-
Trouble is, I don't think Ratcliffe's interested in football. With his money he could have taken over or at least invested in Saints anytime in the last few years. Frankly, he's probably got more sense than to "invest" in football.

Lyndhurst I think
-
I think the FL will impose the points deduction. They will risk legal action from SFC (not that we have the money to initiate such action anyway) and plead the 'spirit of the law' and not the 'letter of the law'. And in my heart of hearts I think that they would be quite right to do so. We should just take the hit and move on, we would expect any other club to do the same should they be in a similar position.
-
This thread saddens me. I'd hoped we'd moved on. Apparently not.
-
I think Frost is Arsenal. He did live in Michelmersh but I think he's moved on. Having said that I think he's mates with Gavyn Davies. Come on Gavyn. you know you want to!!
-
Good point
-
I don't think it would do our current team much good confidence-wise to be soundly thrashed by a load of old men.
-
Joking about punching 8-year olds and stamping on heads till they stop moving? I get it now! Oh my aching sides!
-
Oh - and satire seems to have taken a dive since TW3. Don't ask

Your user name tells me you don,t remember real football violence. I do. And don't think that all potential investors don't read forums like this. It's called research, they will want to know everything they're buying into.
