Pity Luker spelt Mawhinney's name wrong in the accompanying letter. Rather let down the impression of professionalism I would otherwise have got. At least its not called a 'manifesto'.

Please stay away. you're a Jonah! Only joking.

Thing is, Wenger's remarkable managerial record has been achieved on a relative shoestring - his eye for potential in a player is second to none. He spends less than many Premiership managers but still retains top 4 consistently. Genius, but French. You can't have it all!

If it's who I think you mean I cannot forgive his first season in charge. Relegation from a good position and Lew Chatterley. You cannot manage like he did now - fading superstars still want superstar money these days, and that was his only trick, he could talk Keegan, Ball et al into playing for Saints then, he couldn't get their modern equivalents to sign now. Ted Bates on the other hand, signed players with potential who carried us into the old First Division, and consolidated our position there, only for it to be thrown away in 6 months by your hero. I actually felt so strongly I stopped going for years, even after we won 7 matches in 1976.

I didn't know they'd got one. Should fit in well at that stable of a stadium. How seasonal!

Look, get yourself a nice second-hand TV from the classified ads in the Echo - I hear some of them are colour these days. Gaming? - Bagatelle board and maybe a second-hand Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit. Then **** the change up against the wall in your favourite boozer. Result - a Merry Xmas was had by all! HTH -
Don't Citeh fans call Man U Salford? Because it's not in Manchester.

Bristol City - FA Cup 3rd round (I think) Lost 1-0 (Cliff Huxford own goal (I think) Around 1966-67 (Fitzhugh Fella will put me right) I remember being dead impressed with the size of their Kop end we were standing on and singing 'Matthew and Son' by Cat Stevens along with the PA.
-
I saw lots of similarities with the Bristol Rovers game - really quick opposition forwards exposing our rather lumbering defenders. Is it a coincidence that both games were under lights? OK, I know that Saints played really well on Wednesday under lights, but they nearly slipped up against Torquay earlier this season, so maybe its a factor.
-
And so am I. Just to prove it, I've had a look in my history books and I can tell you all that Saints will not win the cup this season.

Spot on - agree entirely. We should go cap in hand to the Commonwealth, you know Australia , New Zealand, Canada etc., and beg for their forgiveness for abandoning them. This is now a global economy, should we feel any empathy with France, Germany etc just because they're geographically close? The internet's changed all that - its easy to trade with anyone, anywhere now - and the rest of the world don't care if we're a member of this dubious club or not. All the eastern european countries are joining for the free handouts - which we are paying for. I voted in 1975 (or whenever it was) to stay out. And would do so again - if given the chance!

That clip just shows that Robbie Robertson can't hold a candle to Clapton. Oh, and that bass player doesn't look like Jaco Pastorius to me.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1223436/Pay-Pompey-Basement-club-Portsmouth-hit-Premier-League-transfer-ban.html The Premier League must be praying P*mpey get relegated so they can be rid of this embarrasment of a club and all the associated problems. They couldn't possibly engineer such an outcome could they? Hmm... And lo! it came to pass
