Problem with Clasie is fitness he is usually blowing out his arse after 60 minutes and JWP idea of closing down is to amble towards an opponent waving his arms around like he is trying to round up chickens....

I'm not sure our players are that suited to a constant high pressing game. JWP, Tadic, Austin, an aging Davis, Boufal, Clasie and post injury Jrod all seem unsuited due to fitness, work rate or ability.

The club can't now sell to Liverpool with being made to look complete ****s. While I except he could still go elsewhere I just can't see it being Liverpool now. This is the first thing the club have done in a while that has got the whole fan base on side they'd be cretins to ruin that by back tracking. Even if VVD agitates for a move to Liverpool the length of his contract gives us plenty of room to play hardball.

Very much this. I'm amazed how many people seem to attribute everything that went wrong down to the manager, when we so clearly dropped the ball last summer, and left ourselves with a much poorer squad. Massive summer ahead if we get our recruitment wrong again this summer last season could well become the norm regardless of who the manager is.

Probably was but Morgan and Victor both threw hissy fits when we said no to them it hopefully won't last long if he knows we won't sell him (he could of course still be sold to someone else yet) and he will just knuckle down and get on with it. TBH he must have surely considered the possibility he might have to stay at saints longer when he signed a new contract?
