  1. Which currently employed manager do you want the club to go all out for?
  2. meh why not.. its not like saints managers have to do much other than take training sessions, play a few youngsters and pick the team on match days. I assume his picked up a few pointers on those during all those years under Ferguson so all needs is a few lessons in funny one liners during interviews and he is set to go.
  3. and losing a cup semi final...
  4. this is two years old but there must be someone on this list... Ranking the 50 Best Managers Under 50 in European Football Right Now http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2406177-ranking-the-50-best-managers-under-50-in-european-football-right-now
  5. Les sees our managers main job as coaching aka poch that's what Les really wants a training ground manager he won't compromise on that.
  6. He was not on last summers short list But Albers insists there has been no interest from Saints in De Boer, who led Ajax to four successive Dutch titles before resigning when they were pipped to the 2015-16 championship on the last day of the season. Albers told the Daily Echo: “I’ve talked to [saints director of football] Les Reed every three days over the last five weeks, we have a good relationship, but we have not discussed Frank de Boer at any moment.” http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14544812.Saints_not_interested_in_De_Boer__reveals_agent/
  7. you new guy must be ****ing immense if Tuchel didn't make the short list...
  8. He had the same agent as Koeman (before he swapped agents to get the Everton gig) who was apparently on good terms with Les we could have had FDB last summer but his agent said we weren't remotely interested.
  9. just like the last manager...
  10. what if he doesn't have a good couple of seasons? not something he could rule out with the current state of our squad.
  11. Doesn't lose games at home though which would be popular no ?
  12. Worth having a look back at last summer when Puel was appointed and what Les said. "When managers are appointed usually they want lots of changes. They want to bring their own staff, they want money to spend. If you go down that route you are putting everything you have built at risk." That has to impact who we will bring in and one the reason Puel was appointed. Would Tuchel work under those conditions? His falling out with the Dortmund board suggests not. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/other/les-reed-reveals-lengthy-process-to-appoint-claude-puel/ar-AAktnFG
  13. I see reported today that Alexis Sanchez potential move to Bayern Munich is off because he wants 22 million a year in wages....
  14. The squad is far from decent style of play may have helped get a few more points but then so would players taking the chances we did create. Our central midfield is poor, two of strikers are crap and one is average, our keeper is poor, we have one proper holding/DM in the whole squad. Our creative players are far from consistent enough. Basically the best part of our squad is the defence and it remains to be seen if that if flogged off this summer. A new manager may well squeeze a little bit more out this squad with a change of style and some luck with injuries but it is way off being a particularly good side since last summers sales and poor replacements. Let's hope for a better recruitment this summer.
  15. Here's one take on our options http://www.bing.com/news/apiclick.aspx?ref=BDIGeneric&aid=C98EA5B0842DBB9405BBF071E1DA7651530FFE51&tid=1A58242530E14763A59FF82FB313930E&url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.belfasttelegraph.co.uk%2fsport%2ffootball%2fpremier-league%2f5-contenders-to-replace-claude-puel-at-southampton-35828550.html&c=1639644004578900529&mkt=en-gb
  16. Do we know what sort of style we want to play? We are told the club wants to play the "Southampton way" and we buy players to fit the system so a change of manager doesn't need a massive change in the squad. Yet we've had four managers in the PL and arguably they all did things differently so what is the style the club wants?
  17. Didn't you imply our first choice was Emery a while back? it doesn't look like he is going anywhere though.
  18. Except the club statement says the search for a new manager begins now which suggests no one is close.
  19. So the fans criteria for a new manager exciting attacking football solid defence and keeper top 6 win a cup final great personality Not a side lines clown big name sexy hippisters choice keeps the senior players happy develops the youth players beat the crap sides beat the top six sides come on Les how hard can that be?
  20. falling out with the board and losing the dressing room?
  21. Not a surprise. Personally didn't have an issue with him seemed like a good guy who conducted himself well. Given the squad he was left with I think he did a decent enough job and the next bloke is going to struggle to do much better without a major squad overhaul this summer. the bigger question for me is this The search for a new management team is underway WTF. Has it really taken them this long to decide that Puel isn't the guy? and are they really only starting to look for a new manager now...****ing Joke if so.
  22. Not exactly living up to the definition of a liberal was he...
  23. The political system of Denmark is that of a multi-party structure, where several parties can be represented in Parliament at any one time. Danish governments are often characterised by minority administrations, aided with the help of one or more supporting parties. This means that Danish politics is based on consensus politics. Since 1909, no single party has had the majority in Parliament. Since*28 November 2016, the Government has consisted of the Liberal Party (Venstre), Liberal Alliance and the Conservative Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti).*Lars Løkke Rasmussen from the Liberal Party*is the Prime Minister. I think things might work a little differently in Denmark you'd need a major change of attitude from UK politicians for this country to work like that. http://denmark.dk/en/society/government-and-politics/
  24. I can agree with most of that I still feel compelled to point out despite the social media master class and the failed attempt by the other side the left still lost. The right might have won the most Pyrrhic victory but they still won which suggests the newspaper reading, telly watching, "what's a tweet?" brigade are still in the majority. I guess the big question is whether generation Facebook's politics change as they get older.
  25. Not exactly a massive bench mark....Jrod got more game time than Austin and Gabbi and scored less.
