I'll admit I now literally nothing about this guy so I'll sit on the fence until I've seen him play a few games. Not quite the wow signing I was hoping was going to herald a summer of rebuilding the squad with known quality players (meh I can dream).

I guess Sam Gallagher's new contract will se him take Jrod's place in the squad.

People need to get their heads around the fact that £5-12 million bracket players we are use to signing are rapidly becoming £15-20 million players just through the sheer madness of PL transfer fee inflation. Its seems like every player we sell people consider to have been sold to cheaply yet every player other teams buy is over priced. 20 million for a young up coming, PL proven, CB in Ake is not a bad price at all in the current transfer market.

Hardly would have liked to have signed Ake though.

Last season showed we have some major issues in the squad that need addressing so it's hard to make a judgement on were we will finish next season until we know who's leaving, staying and coming in. My gut feeling though is we will struggle to match last season but most people will ( if they are true to their word) be happy with that as long as we score more goals.

A lot if bonuses as well I believe. I think I read if he hits all his bonus targets he can pretty much double his weekly wage.

Like Ake surely he is just the sort of player we should be looking at rather than some young, PL untested, Polish lad. Does this now mean Bournemouth's record signing is more expensive than our record signing...
