The Delph to man city story was a done deal according to talksport yesterday that turned out to be a crock.

Really? seems pretty straight forward to me Toby wanted out of Madrid and was prepared to come to us to do that. He found out a better offer was available but strung us along as his back up plan until he knew he was sorted at spurs.

I find myself unbothered about last summer tbh. We have a tough season ahead and we need decent players to fill in for a lot of games while sticking to a budget so getting in a player we know, who can do a job, on loan seems like a good idea to me

Considering the melt down his departure caused last summer I thought people rated him but reading this thread apparently not. He is a decent player, proven at PL level and knows the club so wouldn't need much adjustment time. Personally think it would be a pretty good risk free loan but I doubt it will happen to be honest.

Not sure Glen Johnson is worth £12 tbh....

Be kind of ironic if Morgan moves to Man U and then misses out on the euros because he's been playing back up to Schweinsteiger and Carrick. Think Morgan should look to Delph as an example.........

Isn't he? I thought his favoured position was DM (deep laying play maker basically a better version of Stevie G) but Pep has been playing him further forward which is one of the reasons he is happy to go to Man U because Van Gaal will play him in his favoured position.

If no one bids for him I guess so. I think Morgan really thought he was Arsenal bound this summer but Wenger is a tight Arse with transfers and seems to have indicated he has done his business for the summer. I can't see Arsenal bidding for Morgan.

Hardly the same thing we can make a player already signed to the club to stick to his contract we can't force a player at another club to sign a contract....
