  1. Taider looks a good addition. Not quite a replacement for Schneiderlin though. Impact sub? Worrying thing is yet again he's a loan. No transfer money spent. We still need high quality: GK RB CB (possibly x2 depending on Fonte) LB CF (or two depending on Jay Rod) And two impact subs. If we keep Scneiderlin, Fonte and Jay Rod we need a minimum of 5 more Premiership quality players to safely hit mid-table. Even then, that assumes none do an Osvaldo and Koeman can rapidly gel a brand new team. How much in reality do we have to spend? £40m max (30+25 already spent on infrastructure and existing player sales debt? Doable?
  2. Lol!
  3. Lol I sense the sarcasm on this forum knows no bounds! I think the songs for the Board from 1 Sep may have slightly different lyrics... and then there will be the banners.... and then the plane... Here we go again (?)
  4. Biggest single mistake? Letting Cortese go. No-brainer. It all fell apart from there. Ambition, leadership, ruthlessness, loss of the media war, loss of shrewdness and robustness to resist outside influence on players. Loss of respect for the club leadership from the players... Love him or loathe him, whether it was the right time for him to go or not, it appears that he was holding the ship together.
  5. Can't argue with that. Club ambition, KLs intent, Boardroom integrity.... it will all be judged on 1 Sep. Simple application of money in from sales and and money out for replacements. If we feel the club has lied about reinvestment of 'every penny from player sales' we will be in a position to let KL and her Boardroom know our feelings from the terraces. We will also have had a couple of games in the bank to judge where the team will end up. So until 1 Sep I will try and remain optimistic. After 1 Sep, I may join 20000 others in making our feelings known to KL and her Board. Look forward to seeing 6-8 players arrive in the next 2 weeks to avoid the latter.
  6. lol! I've been agreeing a lot with you too though Clarkey!
  7. Good point.
  8. Oh yes. Tax. Now that is a very very good point. Makes it even more grating. So what do we think after wages, tax et al we really have to spend!?
  9. I agree. Most disgraceful exit of a player from this club I can remember. Lovren comes a close second mind. In southampton they'll always walk alone.
  10. No brainers to start. Beattie at the end of his time. Kevin Phillips didn't shower himself in glory at the end. Calum Chambers should not be let off the hook either... He's getting too much of an easy ride at the moment, but I guess we are punch drunk.
  11. Completely concur.
  12. Global Academy? Mmmmmm that would be relatively inexpensive to run and could reap dividends. Expand into Germany, Holland and go from there?
  13. They'd miss his parties.
  14. Koeman now stating Morgan going no-where. There is a slim glimmer of hope he will stay after all??? I don't trust a word Krueger says.
  15. Replacement for Morgan effectively on a free? No money spent. £72m still to go (plus whatever we get for Morgan), let's say £90m left to spend if Morgan goes.
  16. You're right. But we have £50m on top of the £72m from TV money. Over half of that should pay off the training ground. So I am budgeting the rest into wages. I admit I'm swagging that, anyone have a feel for our wage bill? Is it more than £20m???
  17. Exactly. Spending ALL would be awesome.
  18. Then what's the point of selling? I know we won't. Our Board are liars. Our owner may be pocketing the spoils. Krueger goes on about judgement day being 1 Sep. if we spend £72m we can say the Board didn't lie when they said Koeman would have all the cash from sales. We can say the ambition is there. I doubt it will happen too. And - to be fair - if most of it is spent and there's a little in reserve for January then so be it. But frankly, I don't trust our owner or Boards ambition to match ours.
  19. I wouldn't say that myself, but I am a little confused by the Boruc myth. Dont get me wrong he's a character, but he's a liability when he kicks. 2-4 kicks per game straight out of play FFS! He hands over the initiative unnecessarily too much for me in the Premier League.love him to take Kelvins place though.
  20. How long before the OS pinches this great one liner?!
  21. Ooooooo.... Now you're talking.
  22. Didn't see it. But there is most certainly a threat that their predictions will come true. Owner who could be pocketing sales money and looking to sell up CEO AWOL - reportedly off selling the club Little integrity from our board No players in yet £72m not yet spent Unhappy star players Mass desertion. ITV are on to something. But.... They've forgotten we have Koeman
  23. There are no old friends who should attempt to buy our club. None at all. ...assuming you mean old owners of course.
  24. Forster for me. Boruc is a great stopper but can't distribute newspapers.
