And ban Alpine Saint. I think more and more posters are noticing patterns of behviour which indicate that Alpine is either trolling or being inflammatory on purpose just to get a certain response. Despite the fact that some posters have certainly used abusive language towards him at times, he simply hides behind this and claims abuse when people merely question his motives. If you look at the main board, there are severals posters who at least try and engage in a rational debate but are met more often than not with an unpleasant and rude response. I know plently have him on ignore, but despite their best efforts his inflammatory manner means the majority of his posts get seen by all anyway via quotations. I think the forum would be a far better place with less threads derailed if you simply banned him. When will enough be enough? If we had a poll on this I'm sure you'd see that many agree and surely providing a good customer experience is important to this site and any prospective revenues? Also, it's well known that Alpine has a weight issue which can lead to multiple related health problems, exasperated by stress and anxiety. IMO, the SWF only contributes towards this so there is a moral obligation for you to be considering here as well. I will not place Alpine on ignore myself and will continue (in vien I feel) to try and debate with him in a rationale manner but I'm asking you to consider this seriously. I'm sure others who either agree or disagree will contribute this thread.

You've never really shown any regard for quality of signings, just the time it takes to get them. Seeing as you're so wise to how these things should be done, who could we have signed by now who would be of sufficient quality to improve what we have?

You don't get to see Saints much so maybe you missed Clyne, Rodriguez, Davis and Gazzaniga who all signed at the start of pre-season training. In contrast, we signed Ramirez (real coup of a signing) on the last day of the window along with Yoshida as well as Mayuka As I said, some business done early, same late, same as everyone else.

Alpines transfer policy to just chuck as much money as you can at clubs, players and agents would see us bent over the barrell on a regular basis once word spreads that Saints are a club who will give you exactly what you want. He's like this during every transfer window, and despite us getting some signings in early, some late (like everyone else) we've been successful over the last 4 years and improved with each window so he doesn't really have an argument. Ultimately, he wants our transfer window to be done in such a way just to satisfy his insecurity.

I used to think that Alpine was just a very insecure saints fan with a warped view on all things saints. More and more I'm starting to think that he's actually just a troll. How can you go from referencing the Demba Ba deal to Saints not being cut out to compete in the transfer market at all in a couple of posts and be serious about it?

Shouldn't have replied to you if all you were planning on doing is more trolling. We can't compete with Chelsea, City, Utd, Arsenal, Spurs for transfers but we can, do and have competed against the rest of the prem.

Comparing what Chelsea did for Ba is pointless. As others have said, he had a 7M buy out clause so no negotiation between the clubs needed. Plus they are Chelsea, not Saints and can offer far bigger wages than us. In fact, the first negotiations with Ba broke down for a couple of days so even that one was completely smooth.

The club will strengthen at the back. Every club every where will look to strengthen in all departments if opportunities arise. All you're saying is that we need more defenders which everyone knows and the club knows. It really has nothing to do with Coutinho.

With our awful transfer activity, we are sure in for an embarrassing second half of the season. Starting to think that Saints Charlies infamous drop out of the league idea maybe isn't such a bad one after all.
