Rodriguez actually scored 21 goals in 42 games for Burnley last season. I thought he had scored more than Billy in the league but was incorrect there. Rodriguez is still a better all round player and some of his goals came from the wing for Burnley, not something Sharp would be able to do. Everton where also keen on Rodriguez in the summer, I haven't seen even a sniff of speculation linking Sharp with a premier league team. There is a reason for that.

Yes, encouraging to hear our interest confirmed from the players side but I think we already knew that the interest was solid. It seems to be a message which encourages a bid in Jan. Seems he wants out this transfer window rather than wait for the summer.

I'm glad you're not part of the transfer committee.

Will have to disagree then. Sharp is a very good championship 18 yeard box goal scorer, nothing more. Rodriguez outscored sharp last season and I think the season before and has a much better all round game than sharp does. Mayuka is a talent but has so far been a strange signing for us. He's a central striker but is behind Lambert and Rodriguez in the pecking order so hasn't had much opportunity there. He was excellent when he came on against Villa and Spurs but consistency is a problem as I guess he's still learning the wider positions if that's where the club want to play him.

From watching them play maybe? Do you really think Sharp is better?

No I don't know about the others but as they were not on the books for Anderlecht, I'm guessing they didn't get the same opportunity. -
He's clearly been reading this thread.

Bizarre comment. Obviously on the sauce again. -

Perhaps not but reading about his sentence, he served less than 3 years and most of that was in an open institute where he was allowed to train and play games as part of some young offender football scheme. The punishment hardly seemed to fit the crime. -
The Boruc incident saw him miss two games until the club confirmed no further action would take place and he was no where to be seen until Gazza picked up a knock whoch saw Davis come in only to be dropped for Boruc after a couple of games. In any case, we didn't sign the unfit Boruc until our 5th game of the season where Davis had already been struggling. Again, if people want to question how the GK situation was dealt with in the summer and throughout the season I wouldn't say they are being unreasonable.

Our Goalkeeping situation has left us dropping three keepers in half a season and seen us concede around half a dozen goals due to goal keeping errors. If I think that the club could have done better here, that's not me being spoilt.

We're essentially a CB, GK and Winger short early in our second transfer window since promotion yet people make out that we are in a dire situation.

FFS, West Ham sign Sean Maguire from Waterford Utd. We are getting gazzumped left right and centre

It would be good although can't see Davis wanting to step into a coaching role just yet. He said he has unfinished business in the prem but I think time has run out for him.

Difficult for Adkins to say we will sign another keeper in public, he's got three others thay he may need to use until Butland did indeed sign. Pinch of salt and all that.
-
I thought it was Ottery who had posted that earlier today?
-
Not saying we should, just an opinion that we will. I think Adkins said something about rotation for the Chelsea game after Arsenal but said that we always put a team out to win. I could be wrong though.

I liked this one which was in reply to me: Slating the critics is getting really thin and tiresome. If you REALLY cant tell the club is in crisis, I feel sorry for you. Guess the poster...

Was trying to make this point on the Astori thread but some people will not budge from their assumption that we inexplicably tried really hard in getting certain signings over others.
