  1. I like Nigels socks. His professionalism is unsurpassed by none.

    Les Reed

Some people do know more about what we does than others. People seem to get upset about Reed because of his time at Charlton which is largely irrelevant IMO .
  3. Vlaar is the only CB I've seen Lambert do for pace
  4. Mostly from people claiming the info has come from one of their "good" sources. I'd hate to think what their bad sources are telling them

Do you not think that the Gerrard comments showed what a little pussy he was at the time? What if he had been called up to fight on the front line as many brave youngsters have done in their millions in the past? And what does it have to do with Reeds ability to develop our infrastructure? He's not in contact with the players so it matters not what Gerrard thought of him. Aside from what Gerrard said, what else don't you like?

Ahhh poor little Gerrard having to go on a plane and sleep in a hotel without an ickle cuddle wuddle from Les Reed.
  7. He started there against Villa at home IIRC.

Barry have you been drinking? This sentence makes no sense. I suspect even Les Reed writes a good sentence.
  9. I started a good Les Reed threaqd which Barry will enjoy

Why the vitrol on here about Les Reed at times? He's helped to continue the development of our academy and along with Man Utd, both our U18's and U21's have made it to the elite stages. He's also put a decent coaching team together at academy levels and helped expand the scouting network throughout Europe. Yes, he was a terrible manager at Charlton over his 7 game stint, but as he's not employeed as our manager, I can't see the relevance to the job he does now. His role isn't to coach, it's to develop our infrastructure and organisation and he seems to be at the forefront of what's required at a modern football club. As I said, I don't really understand the stick he gets on here quite regularly from people who seemingly don't really know what it is he does. Anyone care to explain?
  11. Can the lad play CB!!!??? LOL!
  12. Who cares?
  13. Some right papa shangos on here tonight
  14. I was at that game, quality goal, great memories
  15. I trust Um Pahars source more than some bias journo and some grainy propoganda video from saintsplayer thank you very much.
  16. a The great thing about Southgate is that he's in the Boothroyd, Jewell and Phil Brown mould which is exactly what we need and want
  17. Graham Taylor as DOF and head of transfer committee would be my choice with Gareth Southgate in the dug out. He's kept a side in the prem before so that means he's definitely a better manager than Adkins and I'm sure Taylors international pedrigree would see our networking options blossom.
  18. L1 to Prem in two years with only one prem transfer window in which to buy the 9-10 players needed rather than the 5-6 we got.
  19. Ok, so given the structure of our transfer committee which is common ground in modern day football, you think it's fair for Adkins to carry the can for the level of our squad depth? He's one cog in the machine which identifies and gets us the targets. He was aligned with what the fans identified all summer, particularly regarding CB's but the club didn't fulfill it. I hope you would be as consistent in your views had we had anyone else as manager. I wonder if Brendan Rodgers is to blame for them only having 1 striker for most of the season available even though he made it clear to the board that he wanted Clint Dempsey. They didn't delvier but presumably that would be Rodgers fault using your rationale? I hope you wouldn't make excuses for them or anyone else.
  20. Yes, still within a good shout of avoiding relegation IMO and our first 11 is not bottom 3 material. Having depth and a competative squad is our weakness at the moment, not Adkins. When he can field our first 11, we've looked good and have outplayed teams at times. I think we could be a lower mid table side if we could get some consistency there. Ultimately, if we lose a couple of players to injury and have people like De Ridder, Lee, Fox, Hooiveld coming in (who are not good enough IMO) then any manager would struggle with that.
  21. I agree with that. As people no longer value Adkins back to back promotions, his prem performance alone has kept us competative and with a good chance of staying up at the half way point. I would have thought this to be good enough but for some people, clearly not.
  22. His league record at Chelsea was never good enough for the squad of players he had either and then when you add that to his record at WBA, can't see any reason why he would come in an be an improvement on Adkins
  23. His idea to replicate Spain and play no striker in the Champions League cost him his job in the end. No manager is faultless. Those advocating Di Matteo would probably be the first to criticise and get on his back after a run of defeats anyway.
  24. He's achieved diddly squat in comparison to Adkins.
