I thought Metalist Kharkiv were your second team?

Shut up Turkish. Don't you ever correct me.

How much control should the chairman have over signings?

Adkins, Cortese, Reed, Head Scout and the scouting network are behind our signings collectively. The've done a very good job as well over the last 3 years. -

No, mention 'transfer committee' and most people who aren't peddling an agenda don't mind. -

I'm sure Nigel himself is delighted with the set up as well. All the work and effort he's put into getting to where he is, only to be undermined and told what to do by a swiss-italian banker. It's what he's always dreamed of and you can see how happy he is with the set up. -

I think everyone would agree that would be a problem if it were the case but it isn't so it's silly to concern yourself with hypotheticals. -

Only you know what your agenda is. It's not even logical that Cortese hand picks players and just gives them to Adkins without any input from him. It's a simple concept really. NA identifies positions to strengthen. Our scouts identify players for said positions. The transfer committee (which includes Adkins) review and draw up priorities inline with our transfer budget. Cortese then tries to sign our top targets. Perfectly normal in a modern day set up. -

Still though, it's good to suggest and speculate on the way our transfers work if it suits your agenda. -

Dumb post by a stinky registered user. -
Get him to eat a bowl of these every day. His knee will be big and strong in no time.

The fitness and medical team all work ever so hard so that the players can come in and be the best that they can be everyday. We all pull in the same direction at this football cub to achieve our common goal because a house divided against itself cannot stand

Ben Arfa doesn't seem to be able to stay fit and is inconsistent and it will probably take a while for Cabaye to get back to 100%. If we had lost Lambert this window and had our best CB wanting out as well, I think we'd all fear the worst despite also having other quality players. They are in trouble IMO.
-
I actually think it's not a bad shout all. They have been poor for a while now, have lost Ba and are struggling to replace him and are also due to lose a couple more key players.
-
Newcastle have about as much chance of going down as Manchester City, FFS.
-
Very true. It wasn't long ago that transfer windows meant losing our best players and signing sh!te! I hope those whinging about not signing players on day one of the transfer window take note.
-
Good news Can I be the first to say that he'll be like a new signing?
-
Agree and in particular, scandinavian defenders seem to adapt well to the prem.

Us keeping all our targets under wrap is a myth. We managed to do it a few times in the lower leagues when we were probably able to do things on our own terms a little more. I think the club does everything it can to not comment but in the world of the premier league, there is far too much focus and access to Journos and agents for anything to stay quiet for long. Despite the clubs best attempts, it's all a little futile.

Is he really any better? Wouldn't Seaborne be one of the best defenders in the league over in Norway?
