  1. I think it was just the kit, it made a few of our lads look a little on the chubbier side...when in fact they aren't. I doubt Rickie would have been unprofessional in the summer of the biggest season of his life. But he hasn't been involved much at all in many of the games, starting to wonder if that's more to do with our new setup than anything.
  2. Adomah seems to be causing us non-stop problems, as usual. We'd do well to sign him. good option on the right side straight away.
  3. We do seem to go behind alot after dominating....need to start converting our chances. Wakey, wakey lambo. He's been dead this pre-season!
  4. Hes right though, as he was referring to Steve davis
  5. I think we can safely dismiss this.

    Tyres

For new tyres, or repairs, I've always gone to Flintstones in Shirley. Have always been excellent for me. Quick, easy and cheap.
  7. It has absolutely nothing to do with the club. It's the football league interactive contract which shed loads of clubs are locked into for years, and years and years. I know for a fact that we've tried our hardest to get out of it this year, and the general consensus was that we would, but it seems even though we've been promoted we're still locked in for the remainder of the contract. I believe it's something like 6 years, may be wrong though.
  8. MLG to the rescue Cheers. I kept thinking back to David Burke, but he was ''poached'' by brighton IIRC.
  9. There's a transfer committee, which includes Reed, Cortese, Adkins and the head recruitment scout (whose name escapes me).
  10. It seems to be the time he annually goes, as he went around the same period last year. He doesn't strike me as the sort of guy that'll change anything that'll make him worse off!
  11. If it's who I think it is, then they have an agenda and I'd ignore anything they say.
  12. Didn't realise he moved there, thought he'd moved to the lower divisions in Italy. Still, he was a part of our success, however small, and although frustrating he was a good laugh to watch...!
  13. I'm pretty certain that if we'd had a 50% failure rate on transfers over the past 3 seasons, then we wouldn't be in the PL right now. Therefore our signings have been mainly successes. That's surely the only statistic which needs to be thrown his way to prove his argument as flawed rubbish.
  14. Absolutely. Good players often get sunk into the marsh that becomes a club on the decline, and the fans then look at them and say ''Hey, you used to be decent, we know you're good, so play" etc. So he's number 1 target for abuse straight away, so the reactions from the fans at that club are clearly going to be massively negative. But what sort of club has Blackburn been to play for in the last 2 seasons? A laughing stock with their Indian advert, owners that haven't' got a scooby about football, fans trying to invade the pitch to protest, abuse and violence directed to their (clueless) manager. Name me a player that could thrive in that environment. You were right about Delap, in his first season he wasn't bad for us - steady, did a job, but when the managerial merry go round started any form of coaching went out of the window and he sunk into the marsh we had become. To write a player like Pedderson off is silly.
  15. I watch alot of football thank you very much, and going by these threads I have a hell of alot more perspective than you do about the sport. What's happened at Blackburn in the last 2 years? Exactly. Who has been managing the team? Exactly. Put him in a decent team with a coach that knows what he's doing and he'd do a job in the PL.
  16. Where did I say that? Stop putting words into my mouth. Pointless arguing with people like you. It'll just go round in circles so I'll cut my input here.
  17. If I remember correctly, he went away at a similar time last year and things went dead. He does seem a 'do it my way and no one else's.' sort of guy. But he gets success with it so you cannot complain really.
  18. He was hit and miss. A bit like a l1 Steve de ridder I guess. Pace merchant. I think he's now in the 4th division of Italy Antonio had more of a positive impact though.
  19. Antonio wasn't bad for most of the season. He changed games for us regularly. Pace at league 1 level males a huge difference. It's totally ignorant to rate his contribution as bad for most of the season
  20. Dale Stephens was decent. So were papa and Antonio. All 3 hits in my opinion. The fact of the matter is that you need to have a pretty decent transfer policy to achieve back to back promotions.
  21. I don't think he's ****e, just a decent player who is lost in a squad of crapness with a clown in charge. Anyone half decent would struggle there.
  22. Please stop quoting him. Ignore him, he's just on a windup. Anyway, everything has gone pretty quiet at most clubs hasn't it? Sunderland's manager has openly admitted that they are finding it very hard to secure anyone, so I can imagine we're finding it just as tricky - but we have managed to attract some real quality here already, so if that's the level we're looking at then our remaining 2 or 3 should be very good indeed. Good things come to those who wait.
  23. Why are people getting their knickers in a twist over WHU signings though? They're average.com. From their fans views, they are frustrated and worried at their lack of notable activity. And are envious at our ''clever'' and shrewd additions so far. We need a CB and RW, we will get them, and then we can stop worrying. Adkins has confirmed as much. We had similar threads last season, notably people commenting on Leicester. But we did it the right way, by evolving what we had and not going for a mass change which some (not everyone) is suggesting. I think our management and scouts have earned our trust for what they've done over the past few years, so let's just let them get on with it and stop bickering regarding the lack of quality activity, when in fact from a neutrals point of view, we've made very good additions to the squad. If they continue to be of that standard then I'll be happy.
  24. Henderson and McCartney were already there as loans with an agreement to buy, don't class them as new additions in this window. Other than that I'm not too excited by their additions, we've got better.
  25. I have no problem with people having an opinion and raising fair points, but when they try to conclude their argument by stating made up facts it does my head in. Name the 6 new players WHU have. I bet you can't. WHU have only brought in 4 new players. Diame, Collins, Mgbia(?) and Jasskalinen. Excellent. I'm sure we'd all be enthralled with those additions. WHU are a good expmaple of how not to go about it actually. As fans it ''sounds'' like they're busy, being linked with a big bid for a guy in Europe, attempting to bring in Andy Caroll - but they're wasting their time, and to the frustration of their fans, making it public. So the fans can see them failing to get additions. I know for a fact that WHU fans are ****ed so far with this transfer window. They've not added anyone of note, and replaced Green with a keeper who is long past it. They are very, very envious of our signing of Clyne as they needed a right back and were frustrated they didn't go for him. At this stage Sunderland are also much weaker than they were last season, and a quick glance on their forum shows a similar state of panic threads as they've publicly admitted that their targets have not materialized. So have an opinion by all means, but back it up with facts and don't make up the numbers just to suit your argument.
