  1. Defenders are priority, absolutely. But we also need more creative flair in the final third and on the flanks. The fact that SDR is getting game time says it all, he should be nowhere near a PL squad. On a 6 month loan, this guy could and would be the dogs ********.
  2. He wouldn't ever join us, one of the best young players in world football. Staggered that this could even be possible.
  3. Now that kid is a player, there's not a chance we could get him on a permanent as that article suggests. Rated as one of Inters top prospects, so I don't know why they'd want to sell him. They loaned him out last year to Espanyol and he was unplayable sometimes, saw a couple of games on Sky which he played in. He's way too good for us, put it that way. It's fair enough getting Gaston, but this kid would be totally out of our league to buy. Now, a loan may be an option...and would be a stunning addition.
  4. When was Forecast ever been a half average keeper??? He's always been an imitation of a professional footballer. Went to the same school as Pulis.
  5. At this stage of the season points come from the most unexpected sources.
  6. They might as well have just said Chelsea v no one, it would have made no difference. Their football coverage has been horrific for as long as I remember though. Give the FA Cup rights back to someone who knows what they're on about.
  7. Oh, and on another note, that's the last we'll ever see of the white kit. What an horrific marketing choice that was.
  8. Suspended for 2 games as well iirc?
  9. I think he was referring to us being physically weak in the middle, which I do have to agree with. We could do with a Diame type player for sure.
  10. Their number 7 was Ramires. He took a little while to adapt to this country, but is an amazing player. So strong, nimble, pacey. Can play through the middle, on the flanks or in behind. One of the best midfielders in europe at the moment. You've got to hand it to them, there's not much we can do when we're up against what they had on offer and how they played.
  11. I dunno, you'd hope as a player he'd be motivated and confident in himself to make a huge impact and huge improvement. But to be honest, even If he was out there I doubt the score would have been too much different. Our midfield just couldn't get close to them, and that was down to their class and poise with the ball.
  12. Nice one, I'm not sure how relevant it is to this thread though! You do realise this wasn't a league game don't you? Maybe you pasted your pre-written comment for next week into this week by mistake.
  13. It's not too bad, we can recall Seaborne.
  14. I'm pretty much with that. The non-aware fans who just look at the score, will blame the GK - obviously, but he didn't do a great deal wrong today. If we're not going to get a new GK this month, then just stick with this guy.
  15. Yeah, wtf is the deal with Mayuka? Why have we spent £4m notes on someone who we're not playing? He's easily better than SDR, I just don't understand it. I mean I've not even seen him enough to judge him as a good player in saints terms, but talk to fans around Europe and abroad...they're in no doubt he's class. It's a weird one. He's now gone away for 6 weeks as well, but we won't miss him as we never used him....
  16. Those 2 need to go, sharpish. SDR is just dross. Lee has really disappointed me, he's as much of a non-event as SDR these days. The fact we're having to use them at the moment is worrying.
  17. I'd say, 1 miniumum but preferably now 2. Astori, one other, Jos, Yoshida, Fonte (when returns). That'll do. (and how the heck do you manage to cockup every post you quote???)
  18. I'd just forfeit the game. a 3-0 default defeat would probably be better than actually playing it.
  19. It's something the club has explored, but there's so many complications in it. One of the area's they could move them to is the Itchen/Chapel Corner, the Megastore in that area would go...and that would be the ''enclosed'' away turnstiles. They want to move the mega store to it's own building, as shown in some of the diagrams over the summer. So it may well be that this is a consideration (also aided by the fact that the home fans gained access to the Chapel end '''above ground level'', thus keeping the fans separated). I think that would work.
  20. I've forgotten about it. What's the FA Cup?
  21. Flat to non-existent atmosphere today, probably aided by the fact that Chelsea fans were dotted all over the home ends as well. Chelsea fans were good though.
  22. I think after tonight, we now need 2.
  23. These threads are so misguided after a defeat, just spare of the moment emotionally driven threads. No substance or point to them at all.
  24. That was one of the most forgettable afternoons I've had in a while. First 20 mins we looked up for it, causing them problems, zipping it around, and we scored a great goal. From that moment though, Chelsea woke up. You have to hand it to them, for about a 40 min period after our goal, and the start of the 2nd half, they tore us apart and we had no answer to it...and we do have an uncanny knack of conceding goals at **** times. In games like this you need to hope they have a below par game, and we need to play at our absolute maximum for 90mins. The reality is that they were irresistible at times, and we can't do much about that, and we were also slightly below ourselves which doesn't help things. We need to forget about this pretty quickly though as a fan base and a team, put it in the bin and forget it ever happened. All focus is now on the Aston Villa game, that's all that matters now. Overall, there's not much a club like us can do if a team like Chelsea turn it on like that - zilch.
