  1. to be honest, we really need to win this. If we carry on losing games then it will be a rot which will become impossible to get out of.
  2. and breathe...
  3. Alot is made of ''needing to have a tough tackling midfielder to do well'', when as Kraken points out - Barca don't have one, neither do Spain. It sounds simple, but all you need to do is keep the football and have quality in the attack to receive the football. When you don't have the football, you need to pressure high to win it back. If you have good passers and energy, then the rest sort of slots in.

    Best team?

I think you have to play Mayuka, he's on a different level than Puncheon. He showed yesterday he can also play that role as well, which I did have doubts about. I'm be reluctant to shift Clyne as well, I'm a believer in playing players in their natural positions when you're struggling. You don't want to over complicate things by moving things around. Fox is as good as we have at LB until January, so we have to get on with it.
  5. Didn't a similar incident happen with Kelvin away at Sheffield Wednesday a few years back? (Not sure he threw anything, but he was giving back the stick that he was getting)
  6. I think he's injured isn't he? He was pulled out of the recent internationals due to an injury. Good player though, but he's not the sort we need in there at the mo. We need experience at the back, not more youthfulness. Fox is probably as good as it gets until January.

    Nige

I think that's a fair point. In amongst the good sides, we've always played some poor sides such as Wigan and have come up short against them. Fulham aren't any great shakes either, but at least we didn't lose that one. Next month will answer alot of questions. I still think we'd need to be on around 10 points by December to stand any sort of chance though.
  8. And the point of bouncing this is, for what exactly? You just prove exactly the fact that people like you just want ti be proven right, you don't care if we do well or not, you just want to be proven right and you will revel in our demise to promote the fact. End of story. What's wrong with believing in what we had? I wanted another CB, and a LB - I posted as such, and was a bit frustrated we didn't do it. But I didn't expect the likes of Fonte, Jos and even Fox to do as bad as they are. I don't think anyone really did, I thought they'd need to be replaced but I didn't think they were as bad as they're proving this year. Davis and Clyne have proven to be pretty successful as well for what it's worth, and Rodriguez is still a very good player who will prove alot of fickle people wrong. And wasn't the whole point of this thread made to look a little silly anyway, once we went for Gaston Ramirez?
  9. Why do some people take things some personally when pundits don't praise us? He's probably right, our defending was comical on a few occasions in that first half. No ref' mistakes changed the game, we lost it because of an abject 60 mins or so.

    Manny Mayuka

I like him alot, another one who has been affected by Injuries so far this season, but if we can get him on the pitch now we have a chance to make things happen. Although I can see why NA wants him as a sub, he can definitely effect a tiring team in a game - none of our other subs at the mo really can.
  11. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stephane-mbia-admits-qpr-move-1403451 what a shambles that club actually is.
  12. Doubt it. The last thing we want to do is rush him back and make the whole thing worse, as dramatic as it sounds, his return is key to how we do this season. He'll probably be pushing for Swansea, but more than likely back for QPR.
  13. Decent talent, but prone to misjudgements and mistakes. That's the risk you take though, but in the long-term he'll be worth it. I like his versatility in that he could also play at LB, or probably even RW if required. I think he's easily the best player in our back 4, but it doesn't take much.

    Bale

Easily the best left sided player in world football in my books. The speed in which he glides along the ground, the ease in which he beats players and the consistent quality of his deliveries make him one of the best. When eh was with us, you could always see he had a bit of ''rolls royce'' about him in terms of how he moved and glided along with the football. Showed great class y/day as well, pretty proud to be a saints fan when you see him tearing up the likes of Inter.
  15. We won't. Expect to see JWP, Cork, Guly, Lee (if he still exists..!) and Reeves get a go. Possibly Jos and Seaborne at the back too.
  16. He's not a left back though, he's an attacking midfielder. He started off as a left back, but he had a few weaknesses in that position, so the coaching staff turned him into an attacking midfielder. In a real emergency, maybe, but he's not the answer at left back.
  17. What else is he bloody well supposed to do exactly? We haven't got any left backs. He is our only real experienced left back. Until January, like it or not, he's as good as we have in that position. Not sure what he's supposed to learn from that. I'm all from debating criticism, and getting peoples points of view, but I can't be arsed to read tosh like that.
  18. You're spot on, it's total tosh that we'll end coming back stronger. We'll be lucky to get back in a short space of time, getting relegated this year will put this club back years - whatever anyone says. Would imagine things will begin to look financially dodgy again too.
  19. Yeah, was excellent to see. Surprised he wasn't blocked from entering
  20. Personally I thought we started okish, but them from 10mins till about 60ishmins we were atrocious and they took the ****! But from 60mins onwards we got ourselves some credibility back, but against decent sides then we can't give them spells like we did.
  21. Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but nice to see MLT make an appearance in the northam today. Looked a little embarrassed when the songs started up!
  22. Eh? They toyed with us for 45mins, they should have been 4-0 if Defoe had his shooting boots on. They got in behind us countless times, they were very positive in the first half and had us on the ropes.

    Lambert

Lambert was poor today, touch was off. Rodriguez was much sharper, movement was quicker etc. (but his hold up play needs to improve). Delighted for his first PL goal though.
  24. I would imagine people are making a mountain out of a molehill here.
  25. Is Mayuka going to start? etc. If we're honest, they'll exploit our weakness as every other team will. So we just need to make sure we score a couple to get a draw. We seem incapable at any stage to ever be able to keep a clean sheet.
