Wow, that's a cracking argument! So you KNOW for sure that 500+ extreme muslims belong to this organisation, but you won't tell us why? Quality, you could work for The Sun. -
Yeah, that's right. Why is that so difficult to understand?
-
If 'I' were never caught? Careful TDD that's libel I totally agree actually TDD, if they needed to do that, then I would happily participate. Anything to make sure children are not abused by those in the hands of those in a position of trust and/or authority. ...I bet you almost fell off your chair reading that
-
There is a difference. I work with a, what are technically classed as, 'vulnerable' group of people. There need to be checks on people who work with these groups, be that children, the mentally ill or the elderly if the system is to work properly and these people are to be protected. The DNA database would store EVERYONES details, regardless of who they worked with/what they had done etc etc, that is immoral and irresponsible.
-
Yes, but you're saying that you would allow anyone to work with children no matter who they were?
-
I would rather everyone was checked and not one child was abused, rather than not check anyone and have just one child abused. Honestly, for someone who is so obviously right wing, your stance on this baffles me.
-
Right, doesn't cost a tenner for starters, more like £70-80. Yeah, stopping people who shouldn't be working with children is a stupid idea isn't it?! Lets let any old so and so work with them, people who work with children have never abused them before I think...

Lucky we live in a democracy then isn't it, because in a few months time you get to vote 'your mate Dave' into office.

Reasons why you could not possibly in a MILLION years call this government a Communist government: It allows free enterprise It allows free travel It allows freedom of speech It allows private ownership As far as I'm aware this government does not try to stimulate one type of demand for a consumer good in order to stimulate another part of the economy (car scrappage scheme aside as that was designed to try and help the car industry out) There isn't an explicit desire to keep women in the workplace, they have freedom to choose The government does not use the lure of increased consumer opportunities as a mechanism for legitimising the government. I don't doubt your experiences in the USSR, but to label this government communist is almost laughable IMO.

I have a copy of my CRB, but as far as I'm aware, it is only eligible for the school I work at...(someone might be able to clarify this for me). All I know is that if I moved back to a school in Hampshire, Hampshire LEA would need to do another CRB check. My QTS certificate certificate on the hand is held by my employer so I couldn't use that, and apart from that, there isn't a lot else you can use I'm afraid.
-
LOL @ the paranoid idiot. I'm against DNA profiling, but calm down mate. By the way, it's spelt Communist.

I think they offer you both options. -
A while, you've taken your time haven't you? They were elected in 1997!

Students and the armed forces all in one thread....
Thorpe-le-Saint replied to sotonjoe's topic in The Lounge
What about the child of the armed forces member who doesn't get killed, but doesn't want to go to Uni? Do they get a 15/20k lump sum (most Uni courses are 3-4 yrs). I saw 'Dave' on the Andrew Marr show this morning: Lee Mack was right, he is like a 'cool' Geography teacher. Be interesting to see SRS's thoughts on this... -
Spot on, also we would be wasting the cash on buying players who might not be able to make the step up to the CCC/Prem - Fonte perhaps excluded.

Hopefully the posties can stil get through! -
Right, I'm going to take Ponty's advice, and just finish posting on this thread otherwise I will end up getting banned. If people NEED to be convinced that the slaughter of Whales and Dolphins is a bad thing, then I dispair for future generations who inhabit this earth.
-
The killing of cows is a tragic necessity. The people of world need feeding. 99% of people in Japan don't eat whale/dolphin, but I reckon at least 85% of the world eats beef. We should not be killing animals to eat that are top of their respective foodchains, so, for example, Whales, Dolphins, Tigers, Lions, Polar Bears, and yes, even cows, horses, etc. There is no way in a million years that people will come together to try and stop the slaughter of cows, as it unfortuantly forms the basis of many persons staple diet.
-
No I am, but your argument that I only care for animals who are endangered is absolute rubbish! I merely pointed out that due to the relentless profit seeking of these major corporations, cows will never become extinct.
-
There ALWAYS WILL BE enough cows because of McDonald's, Burger King etc etc. Just look how much of the Rainforest has been cut down so that Brazillian farmers can farm cows, it's all for profit.
-
The only groups of people I would class as 'OK' to eat Dolphin/Whale meat are Aborigine's, Maori's and South Pacific islanders as these people only kill what they need. They are not driven by profit.
-
Cows are not an endangered species. End of argument IMO.
-
There are plenty of groups in this country that want blood sports banned (thank god we've got rid of the ancient practise of fox hunting nowadays!), I can't find one Japanese anti-whaling organistion etc.
-
http://www.iwcoffice.org/conservation/estimate.htm - Whale numbers from the IWC I've been hunting for about 20 mins, and can only find the whale numbers. There are certainly less whales than cows!
