  1. Either of the following two 'Southampton styles' to recreate would be acceptable: 1. The 'Channon- Ball- Keegan - Golac' era , of quick one touch passing or 2. 'The Alehouse' days of the late 1960's where McGrath, Gabriel , O'Neil and Fisher provided the protection and platform for others to excell. Ideally,I'd like a combination of the two.
  2. It would also give Wenger the chance to see how the two of them combine in midfield...
  3. Amazing how a thread about an average journeyman type of player can soon be swamped as posters imagination goes in to overdrive and we end up with Italian and Brazillians very few have ever heard of being suggested.
  4. Are you sure you are not confusing him with Prutton ?
  5. A foreign non-ginger age range 22-26. Lets leave it to some silly sod to research their computer game data base to advise on the possibilities here.
  6. Could he be the unnamed Italian/Spanish geezer from another thread ? Or was it decided he had to be ginger ?
  7. Oh dear, someone obviously forgot to put the bog seat down after they'd finished... ....or perhaps forgot to put it up before taking (a poor) aim !!
  8. Yes, it was during the time we were managed by Bally and Lawrie was DoF. Story afterwards was that Lineker had attended a charity function down here where AB and LM were also present. Lawrie replied to the speculation saying that David Gower had also been there so were we going to sign him as well. I would not be surprised if we tapped "Line-acre" up about returning to the Premiership but he was intent on retiring .
  9. Preston fans not too complimentary about Carter and his attitude: http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?t=55590&page=5

Looks more like Drogba in drag than Heskey.
  11. A couple of observations :
  12. Wait for Poyet to trot out the usual managerspeak of "well, it was nothing serious, just handbag stuff really". Or perhaps he dare not use such a phrase about Brighton.
  13. Parsons
  14. Ridiculous that a third division footballer can earn so much.. I remember Jim Steele driving a Ford Capri, and Peter Osgood drove a yellow Cortina Mk III.
  15. Possibly not there on merit. But of course that will not satisfy the PC 'lets rewite history' brigade so perhaps we should invent some candidates to suit. 'Chicken George' was probably better than Paine, or at least would have been had he not been oppressed by a racist/facist regime so he should be included.
  16. The shirt is for one year, and given its historical context I can certainly live with it. We have had worse abominations, ie the red with white shoulders in the 1985 era, the Danish pyjamas, and the Pony tick.So the sash is fine with me for a season.
  17. Cost of course - up here anyway- s the same as a fine, £60, so no financial advantage.
  18. Mixed bunch attended mine. I was genuinely surprised by the upper end of the ages. Bear in mind that you are only "invited" to one of these if you are driving as a 'borderline' case; I suspect you were doing 36-39 in a 40mph,Any more and you might not have the option of the course, as opposed to pimts.
  19. So,combining the logic of the above posts, it could be said that we will have great competition for places, with the three above mentioned players competing either for a starting place that does not exist (unless we rest Lambert),or possibly two places on the bench from where they can make a 20 minute cameo appearance. I'm sure AP knows what he wants and what he is doing.
  20. Don't know why, but I had assumed that the shirt would first be worn v Plymouth. The match v Reading is more likely to be used as a chance to show the away kit to the public.
