Forte certainly isn't a wide right player. I agree, it's a pointless comparison. I think Forte will only ever be a sub or a player who starts league cup matches etc. But he is lightening quick so is a useful squad player in certain situations. He probably knows that, Adkins probably knows that. Everyone knows that. Doesn't mean we can't sign another fast player.

Not sure. I reckon Forte is probably on about £3k p/wk, maybe £4k. Dickson similar. Harding maybe slightly more. Martin last season was probably on about £600-700 per week. Hard to say now; it depends how seriously other clubs were interested in him. If we really rate him and the likes of West Ham were interested then who knows... could be on more than the others.

Yeah, no sympathy there. If there is a period explicitly for renewals and renewals are discounted the natural assumption ought to be that you might not get the discount at the end of the period.

We don't have many players we signed from non-league on their first professional contract though do we? He had a one year extension to a contract he signed when he was a teenager playing at Tooting. He'll be on about £1k a week.
