A quick look at 11v11 website says 1-0 Swindon Sat Sept 11 2010 so that'll have been when you went. The season before it was also 1-0 (Tues 18 Aug 2009) so that'll have been the evening game Swannymere was thinking of.

Many years ago we lived near Andover so that's how I became a Saints fan. My Dad and I went to the Dell as often as we could. My brother was born in Winchester and eventually he was old enough to go. He would go but he wanted a Man United shirt for his birthday. In those days (early 80s) Saints were better than Man U most seasons. We tried to reason with him but he was adamant. So late 80s rolls around, Fergie...you know the rest, trophy after trophy after trophy. Man U had just won something else so I said to my brother "you jammy bastard, choosing Man U over Saints so those years ago. But why? Why Man U?". His reply "I was born there!". Your summary is fair though. I felt he did well right up to the World Cup, but when the pressure was on he made a few bizarre changes that were not necessary and backfired quite badly. Also the whole "we'll fuck Croatia" was really poor professionalism from him. I think he's probably learned from the WC experience but I fell he isn't what we need right now.
