Most of these refs are extremely petty minded and I can almost see in my minds eye, Mason with a big grin only sending the one angle and saying, "that'll teach you to question me Newcastle". Needs to be a tool for refs to use if they are not sure, not a way to influence matches.

Trouble with having refs on it is that 90% of refs (at all levels) are complete cunts and probably only got into reffing because they didn't get picked for a football team and want some sort of petty revenge. Should have seen this twat in my son's U14 game. Striding theatrically to pace out 10 yards, yellow carding a player for taking too long to go off when he was clearly injured and limping. Completely ignoring his linos all match, U14s!

Despite my username I actually live just across the Ottawa River from Ottawa, in Aylmer, Québec. Started supporting Saints in 1980 when we lived near Andover. After that my family (Dad in the Army) we moved to Germany and then back to UK to N. Yorkshire. We'd go to Leeds, Boro, Sunderland, Newcastle etc. vs Saints. I later lived in Aberdeen and Newcastle for University before leaving for Canada. I think the last time I saw Saints live would have been in Nov 2000 vs Sunderland, 2-2 late Dean Richards equalizer and then Tessem missing a huge sitter in injury time.

In my Mum's old house there was a big scuff on a cupboard door. It was caused by me throwing a chair in anger after Leicester got a late equalizer against us after we been 2-0 up and cruising. 1995 I think. I'd say 9 out of 10. He must be pretty distraught right now. He knows it better than anyone. Hopefully he can put it behind him and get the next one.

Looking at total goals in a season is not always a good measure of a striker. Some are the kind that add goals 3 and 4 to a 4-1 win but go missing in the tight games when a single goal would win it.

That's the worry. You see it all the time here in the ice hockey, teams rebuilding with loads of really exciting youngsters. They look awesome but struggle because they need an experienced player or two to guide them through the difficult situations that they'll face throughout the season. Indeed a lot of focus goes on finding the right older players to take on these roles.

It's tantalizing because we look so energetic, positive and full of ideas and then the ball gets to Moi who takes too long to commit to anything and the Che who will either smash in a bicycle kick or miss an open goal.

Thought we looked really bright and energetic with all the young lads. Ezodie looks great, very exciting. Just a shame that they got a huge slice of luck and we didn't punish them like we should have. Annoying to get zero points.

I guess what we feared the most is Che being Che. So now he'll have no confidence. Great...FFS!

How we're losing here is is unfathomable. Been by far the better team. One jammy goal for them and Che missed those 2 sitters. The first one will go down as one of the worst misses of all time. Frustrating!
