Duvan Zapata http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfer-newssaints-weigh-up-2086461 Genuinely looks like a very good finisher from the video included...

Yep. Saw him get out of his car with his Mrs and was told by somebody else that he was there as a guest of Cortese.

So, Napoli on the verge of getting Higuain (waiting on medical completion) and tonight have reached an agreement with Jackson Martinez - another striker. Are they really still in for Damiao as well or not? I still think we'll get him but might not be till last 2/3 days of window.

PRE-SEASON: Schalke 04 vs Southampton - (18:00 KO)
itchen_dan replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Saint-Armstrong's take on the match. Pretty fair reflection I'd say going on what I saw briefly. http://www.givemesport.com/362637-southampton-suffer-at-the-hands-of-schalke?tg=/ -
Surprise surprise. Cortese's best media mate. Interview in Spain last year, was invited to the last game of the season as his guest and now this piece. Wonder how these 2 ever came to get on? 2 completely different "ego's"

Adam Lallana - has he flattered to deceive?

Lallana more technically gifted than Ramirez? Wow. Big statement. -

He's 25. Not exactly young anymore with time to "come good". He's coming to the age where he needs to start producing or start looking for another club. IMO, he should be no where near the starting XI on last seasons evidence and his "floaty" performance tonight. Clyne, Shaw, Puncheon, Ramirez, Schneiderlin, Cork, Lambert, Rodriguez all had better seasons than him last year. Needs to step it up big time. Especially with Isgrove now on the fringes and looking very promising. -

I edited my earlier post but here you go SouthamptonFC: #SaintsFC substitutes versus @s04: Gazzaniga, Boruc (GKs), Clyne, Fonte, Turnbull, Fox, Cork, Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Mayuka. -
No because there is 4 weeks less time to do deals in so decisions will have to be made early and not panic decisions based upon early season results.

4-2-3-1 I think. Only variation in my eyes is Lambert off Rodriguez or Rodriguez off Lambert. -

SouthamptonFC: #SaintsFC team to face @s04: K. Davis, Chambers, Lovren, Hooiveld, Shaw, S. Davis, Wanyama, Isgrove, Puncheon, Rodriguez, Lambert. Totally agree. Once the season starts, the squad you have is yours. Teams have had all summer to get the deals done but some like to leave it until the last minute. This is why you see a lot of panic buys and big fees.

Is it only me who thinks Naughton is a better all round defender than Walker? Walker is better going forward but Naughton is a very very solid player. Actually not afraid to admit I said this time last year that I'd prefer Naughton to Clyne but was proved wrong on that assumption. Naughton would still be a very good option to have.

He's Argentinian (ticks box), young at 21 (ticks box), versatile - right back / right wing (ticks box)... Maybe it is him? Know sod all about him so you'll have to enlighten me!

THE Tweet SimonPeach: One caller told me #SaintsFC interested in a versatile right-back, who would seriously challenge Clyne. Expecting story in tomorrow's papers

Grant Holt did... (Albeit after 2 seasons at PL level)
