Seems he was interested in the project but we were restrictive with the figures being offered to club and player. Never mind, we move on to the next target.

Charles Paterson (scottish sky sports reporter - does some of the transfer updates also) has been doing a live transfer chat special on the Sky Sports website. He was asked about Wanyama leaving Celtic and confirmed that Wayama's agent is back in talks with us so i reckon we could see some serious movement on this before the week is out. I think Poch will want another one in before the trip to Spain next week,

They seem to have gone to the QPR school of transfers.
-
Benteke hands in transfer request at Villa. Get a bid in nice and early Mr Cortese. £15m-£20m should do it.
-
@tancredipalmeri: Jovetic has turned down Napoli, according to Sky Italy. Napoli offered for him 27m € How many strikers do they want?
-
Nothing new but it's virtually a done deal to Napoli according to Sky Italy. He has supposedly turned us down.
-
@GetFootballNews: Leandro Damiao's agent has confirmed that a deal that would see the player move to Napoli is close.

They're usually pleading poverty every transfer window anyway and Martinez seems to only want to sign Wigan players. Loan deal for Joel (Wigan goalkeeper at end of last season) also on the cards apparently. Plus, I can't see Fellaini going. Only Baines. And would he be that stupid to spend £12m on a CM when they'd need a left back? I really can't see Everton getting Wanyama.
-
Kone to Everton complete. That also means they have £5m less than before to put towards any Wanyama deal.

Doncaster prepare £850,000 homecoming bid for Southampton's Billy Sharp http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfer-news-doncaster-rovers-2036738?
-
I don't follow him, in fact he's blocked, but I saw it on Nixons timeline so had to have a look.
-
@Oddschanger: Reading & Nottingham Forest are now 2/1 joint favourites to sign Billy Sharp (@billysharp10) -> http://t.co/9nV7ZgZYEc #ReadingFC #NFFC
-
There is no chance on this earth that we'd be stupid enough to pursue this deal this far, speak publicly about him etc without asking the guy if he wants to join us or not. Under previous management / chairmen, yes, but under Cortese and the committee, no chance.
-
Lots of talk that Reading will sign Sharp this week meaning they can offload Le Fondre to Leeds with egghead.
-
No one seems to have picked up on the news that his agent has flown into the UK. Make of that what you will. Was apparently part of the SSN transfer piece.

EDIT: Double post

From our favourite tweeters @andrew_halford: @reluctantnicko Evening Alan, any Southampton news ? @reluctantnicko: @andrew_halford Waiting and watching Wanyama ...

Tomorrow. Monday 8th July, Victor Wanyama. There, said it.
-
Still no mention from his agent as to who the favourite is. Still think its us. I feel this is the signing that the Don really wants. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8811990/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

In fact I was wrong as the Man City home game was on ESPN so was only 7 on Sky. I thought the title said on TV.
-
That will change very soon.
-
How would you know? Have you been a resident there? Premier League or Serie A? I know which one I'd prefer.
-
Best of luck to him if he does join Napoli as he seems a top prospect but can't help but feel he'll be making the wrong decision. Napoli wont be half the side without Cavani and playing in a corrupt league wouldn't really appeal to me. At the end of the day, Northcroft is the ONLY person/outlet reporting that Damiao to Napoli will happen. Numerous other outlets in Italy say that Dzeko is their number 1 target and Damiao is an alternative and until other outlets start reporting this, I'll still continue to think there is a possibility he will join Saints.

I counted 8 City away, Utd home, Fulham home, WBA away, Arsenal home, Everton home, City home, Reading away.
