Agree - I was about to post similar. They’re slightly edging the game with slicker passing, better pressing and more pace so I’m expecting them to capitalise in the second half. Watch Russ make the inevitable three subs at around 60 minutes which will help them.

I’ll say something about Smallbone, he’s a bit m h in midfield but he has the habit of being in the right place at the right time. But then dear Baz once again fails to keep hold of the ball. 1-1…classic Russball and now we’re looking as fragile as an egg.

Mmm, temper expectations indeed. Hull have all the attributes to play a low possession containment game and break quickly with clinical finishing. Not an easy game in the slightest.

If RM could get Sulemana or Alcarez to look up and pass accurately around the box, could get someone like Smallbone to lay off a ball accurately and get Mara to be in the right place at the right time to shoot, we might actually score a goal because Mara CAN shoot accurately when faced with a gifted opportunity. So many variables in this scenario that it’s highly unlikely to take place and that’s even if we manage to move the ball quickly enough forward to stop the opposition getting 11 men behind the ball (which we mostly don’t).

Not sure the international break will do us any good and looks like the emerging success for our two CB’s will be disrupted once again. Can’t see our team being up for it enough. 2-1 loss.

He’ll need to be given the service that suits his ability otherwise he’ll end up looking as lost as our other strikers. It will be very interesting to see how he adapts to RMball.

I wish him well there, unless they’re playing us of course. He’s certainly got a lot of work to do, but they can really only go upwards at the moment and not get too much worse. The big issue for him will be drilling his system into a squad that’s not really good enough to implement it. But like Martin at Saints then I suppose. 🧐😜🤣
