They’ve gotta think big. Imagine a monorail circling the City from West Quay/Bargate quarter to the train station to the cruise terminals to St. Mary’s and a new waterside leisure hub. Massive increase in tourism attraction. Job creation, especially with new restaurants/hotel/monkey-chicken petting zoo (lol). Seriously, this is the level of ambition I’d like to see SCC/Dragan etc aiming for.

Agreed. Larin is good value and I think we might yet see the best of him, however overall a decent CF will be the difference a sustainable charge to the top will need. We wait with baited breath.

I’m thinking we’ll see what’s missing in terms of CF attacking intent in the Colchester game and any subsequent signing will be seen as a panic buy.

Which is why I said relative to the country they play in - even in poorer countries players earn more than many can dream of. Then there’s players like Mané who earns enough to look after an entire village back in his native country. Do you know what the average league 2 player earns in the UK? Apparently it’s about £2000/week - in terms of the general demographic, the average pay for ‘Joe Bloggs’ is about £750/week so there’s plenty in the UK who would fall well below what even a lower league pro player earns.

Not sure what you mean by ‘as good a job’? Is that at being a GK or at being part of a group of players that gel? My argument was that the latter is as, if not more important. Having said that, I do think that Ramsdale could quite easily re-integrate himself into the team dynamic, however Peretz experienced last season where a real team identity developed under Eckhert.

To be honest I just don’t get all the overblown fascination with player salaries. Every single pro player around the World earns considerably more than most people can dream of ever earning, relative to the country they play in. It’s a short-term career with significant long-term injury risk. My advice is get over it and concentrate on the value the player brings to the team - much more important IMHO. When you start thinking about value, it’s clear that it’s the collective value that is so important. For example, I would argue that the value of THB to the team right now under Eckhert is high - in fact, try to think of players that don’t fit that mould. Probably fringe players like Ramsdale, Archer, Roerslav, Larios, Sanda etc. would not affect the collective spirit of the 1st team if they left.
