There are still three teams we could overtake on GD if they mess up...i.e. if Charlton or Swindon only manage 1 point from their remaining games we would still be in there assuming we win all remaining games. And the way Huddersfield played against a rubbish Millwall would suggest winning 2 from 3 might be a tall order for them. It's not over yet people - stay positive.

Not over yet - Huddersfield still need to win two of their remaining games to be safely into the playoffs ahead of us. A win and a draw will not be good enough.

Thread is a bit meaningless to be honest - if a player is wearing the red & white he deserves some respect, carp or otherwise.

He has much more of a chance than Papa Waigo methinks. Watching Papa in the half-time kick around I thought he looked disinterested and when he came on, I'm not sure he added too much either. Having said that, he has performed well for us and I would probably give them both contracts if the deal was right for Saints.

As AP has clearly stated, it matters not whether its a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 as such. It's more important that the make-up of the team matches the objectives for the game ahead. Based on this and the individual task assignments to the players, a formation (of sorts) will be decided and if it resembles one of the above then so be it. But the formation is not decided upon first and then populated with players - that is some kind of myth!

AP is a top, top manager. He can only do so much in prep and from the sideline. Even the top teams in any division will have slip ups - it happens. We have had a fantastic season and anyone who says otherwise either relies on the radio for their commentary rather than be there or is an out and out liar looking for an arguement for the sake of it. AP has my support 110% and long may he stay here.

Fabulous win - goals from Lambo were spectacular right in front of us (1st header was pin-point accurate in terms of timing and placement). Morgan had a very special night indeed - let's hope that's wetted his appetite and he'll now go on a goal-fest run! Thoroughly enjoyable evening of footie - couldn't give a monkey's toss about the Huddersfield result TBH as the evening was all about Saints spanking Rovers 1-5!! Bring on the play-offs - we deserve it now.

Agree with OP actually. I think AP has demonstrated he has the nouse to operate with this team in this league, perhaps with a little strengthening in defence and central midfield in the summer. What if we're 8th (for example) at Xmas with the top slot well within our grasp? That would be way ahead of where we are now and every chance of still going up as Champions. But some like Alpine would have us sack AP at Xmas?!?!? That would be UTTER UTTER barking madness!!!

Great game today - really enjoyed it. Davis and Fonte were incredible today. Seaborne scares the cr*p out of me though - his positional play is in need of improvement to be anywhere near as effective as Jaidi. I thought there were times today also when either Lallana or Puncheon were FAR too selfish with the ball - one time in particular where a simple lay-off would have put us through 3 versus goalkeeper and a dead cert 2nd goal, but the decision to pass was taken way too late for some reason and when it came it was woeful. Going up to Rovers on Tuesday - really looking forward to that. Win it and play-offs are no longer a pipe dream...they become a true reality. COYS!

Surely the coaches would travel up the M27/M3 given Wembleys location and the A3 still having the bottle-neck that is Hindhead? Anyway, stupid idea even thinking about the fish-fiddlers I suppose.

Anyone planning to drape some flags on M27 motorway bridges for the Skates on Sunday to remind them of the manner in which they've cheated their way to Wembley? Just a thought. :mad:
