  1. Such comments are all over the shop: Patterson the new Ali Diah Blame Pardew What did Papa Waigo think of the crap in front him... You don't even have to use the scroll down button... Such people are entitled to their opinions. But if they don't have the patience to live through a genuine rebuilding and expect us to win from the off, I would suggest they are over-expecting. I believe you fall into the same category - no disrespect it is merely what you have said that Pardew should be delivering more already (ie wins). Yes we would all dearly like to win and fecking soon. But, in this case, is some time before casting aspersions in the direction of the manager and questioning his tactics not at least justified??? If we were winning games all last year and had yet to win, I would be well and truly miffed. But (and I speak only from watching three games) we have been more solid in every one than last season. That's progress in my book. And the only weak links are in areas we know we are weak and are adressing! Might be slower than you would like, but impatience ain't gonna make us win any quicker is it. I think people should chill, sit back and give it some time.
  2. We won't ever agree on this but FWIW, I wouldn't mind people booing Bristol Rovers last season because that was an appaling display where no-one put in the effort required. But yesterday I felt was very harsh, compounded by the timing. I doubt very much that Pardew painted the walls blue unless he lies totally in his post-match interviews. I think he knows he has inherited a club with wafer thin confidence - even non-existent - some young players who are scared to play and is rebuilding an entirely new team. I agree we need competition for places and that can't come soon enough, especially up front/final third/wide midfield.
  3. I must be in a minoroty as I didn't think we were crap. By comparison to Chelsea, yes we aren't good. By comparison to 2003, nowhere near. But crap? Ineffective in the final third, yes. Lacking pace, yes, but crap no. Back four solid and never looked in danger. Midfield, lacking width and creativity until Morgan and Mills came on, then ineffective because of poor delivery into the box. Front, ineffective because of previous statement. I think I agree with your sentiment though. Once we have a wholly new team from last season (Davis, Perry, and possibly James/Lallana aside) I think we could win a lot of matches!
  4. Hello? How much did Jack Walker invest over what period? Man City were in this division a few years ago. Fulham have achieved what exactly? Chelsea I will give you. I have no issue with divided opinion on football. I just wonder how the bloke who saved the club feels when he sees his investment bood off the pitch six games into his five year plan? Doesn't exactly say patience, gratitude and respect does it? But I concur, we have plumbed lower depths, just not this season. To start a thread slating an 18yr old trainee is, in my humble opinion, a fecking disgrace. However poor he was, he cannot be held responsible for being the only striker available! Poor fecker. I am sure he is mentally tough enough to cope, but it doesn't make it any easier does it? I think our problem is we are all out of patience. It was used by the last regime and there is none left for the new one. That ain't their fault.
  5. He doesn't have any confidence. You could see that in his demeanour, his inability to put his head down and run at people. Not ready yet would be my prognosis as opposed to not trying. Be hard to explain a kid getting a big break in a game like that and not trying wouldn't it? What was he planning on doing for his career??
  6. I agree with you, but just don't think Terry is class. Class is a quality that Terry doesn't have whereas Lampard does was kinda my point. If you wanted me to name a class centre-back, I would say Rio Ferdinand at his very best. Trotman is excellent and as good as we could hope for in this league.
  7. He tried his best - he ain't good enough (yet). He shouldn't be there! I don't see how booing him helps him, us or anyone for that matter. I guess it might make the manager rethink would be the only justification. I bet if he scored or set up a goal he would run a yard faster. That's what confidence (or lack of it) does. But do you genuinely believe he didn't try his best?
  8. I actually don't have that much of an issue with people booing. But yesterday, name the players who deserved to be bood??
  9. You must be my friend if you think Terry is class. Frank Lampard is class. Terry is slow, can't pass, can't dribble. But he is stood in front of one of the best keepers in the world behind the best midfield in the world. Blimey, even I would look good...
  10. On this DD I will always agree with you. We should never ever aim to survive. But WGS always said his first job was to get to 40 points, then start looking upwards from there. And I wouldn't disagree with that either. This year, in my view, we must first ensure survival and then look up.
  11. I'd like to see a smaller squad, some of the kids out on loan and a stable 11 played every week barring injury! But I think managers don't play like that any more sadly...
  12. That is a fecking hard question isn't it? What about Charlton? Who would have supported Parkinson for 20 odd games without a win? Personally, I would be livid if we don't win within the next three weeks!! When would I ask for Pardew to go? By Xmas should be long enough for any manager to be judged. But if he hasn't won by then he'll be fired anyway!! Long gone in fact.
  13. As long as you pick one of the older players lol
  14. I don't think we will be by the end of the season. But I seem to be in a small minority who like to start by conceding no goals and then buildi from there. I guess I come from the Goerge Graham and Kevin Keegan schools of management! Did you see yesterday's game Alps (That is NOT a vieled criticism, I just know you have been over!!!)? If you did, you could not think that it looked like a relegation side.
  15. Staying up will be a good achievement. Then promotion next season. How does that work for you?
  16. "There are clearly some people"... yeah fecking sweeping that, falls right into the category of sweeping... And if you couldn't read the tongue-in-cheek nature of proposing those 'some people' move to outer Mongolia... If you want to Boo, go right ahead, If you want to slate go right ahead. It will simply mean I think you're a pillock, but it's your right. If you were doing neither, go and start a thread of your own thanks.
  17. Then the post is not aimed at you is it? Who are you, Warren Fecking Beatty??
  18. They are voicing displeasure at the key in our rebuilding process - the manager. How can that be remotely supportive of the rebuilding process? Answer, it isn't. If you believe that we are rebuilding you have to support the bloke tasked with doing it. Otherwise we are not rebuilding are we? We're still fecking demolishing. And that's all we've done for six years!!!!!!
  19. I agree with everything you say. Which is why I don't consider it burying my head. You have to enjoy the fact that we have a club - because the alternative which was nearly upon us, was nothing to moan about!!! Questioning Pardew after six games though? Really? You could be right, he could be here for nothing more than a fat pay cheque. What has anyone seen that suggests he doesn't know what he is doing? Everything wrong over the past three/four years it seems he's started to put right, from where I sit. And yet people (yes, they have not imagination, not hallucination) are talking about giving him five more games... It's hysterical. We need to survive this season and get better. I personally see nothing in this league to believe that with the right balance in the squad we could still not challenge for a play-off place with a bit of luck. But all those people who said they understood it would take time, that rebuilding would not be easy. Well, their patience ran out pretty fecking quick!!!
  20. He played 4 3 3 - not that anyone ever listened or understood it... lol.
  21. Er? I didn't stop going and supporting. I didn't boo. I didn't jeer. I did what I thought I could to help. It didn't work. I am only pointing out that if people are not enjoying the rebuilding process and cannot accept it as such, they should do themselves a favour and miss it, because it will be painful, frustrating and no doubt long.
  22. What I expect I said was that the team should be supported and not booed from the stands - my opinion does not change on that. Anyone who thinks public criticism and humiliation helps young professional sportsmen is insane. I expect I also wanted JP to be given a fair crack of the whip. He was, he failed. That did not lead us to relegation per se. Appointing him and then compounding it by denying him Saga, John, Skacel etc certainly did. As did then appointing the bloke appointed with him. My supporting the manager in no way contributed to our relegation. But let's set that aside. How the fecking hell can you compare last season with this?? Sure we're all worried. What should we do?
  23. I thought Mills stayed wide when he came on, but his delivery was not great. And when it was, the bloody strikers were too deep!!
  24. Sorry, do you speak English as well?
  25. Ah, I forgot Pardew has been here for 30 games working as an integral part of "a management duo"... How can you compare the two? Do me a favour.
