  1. personally I don't go for chucking hefty abuse about - unless it's dished out with humour or aimed at people who have started it. To come on here with arrogant claims that cannot be supported or new versions of history invites criticism, and that's when some people let rip. Mero and Mack take it - and dish it out. Sadly Ho's credibility is zero, his history on here is quite worrying - he really has no future on this forum other than as a figure of fun. For me the jury is still out on another one or two. Some of the points made recently have asked to be questioned, and the skate posters don't like it when valid points are made. It's difficult to disappear when things get tough then roll up under new owners and expect to be accepted again. And I also recall some skates coming on here with distasteful Markus comments - any personal abuse aimed at them is fully justified. So imo sometimes abuse is acceptable, sometimes it isn't, each to their own. I would rather not bother dishing out personal abuse to skates, then perhaps they will spend their time more constructively. After all those sisters don't fiddle with themselves.
  2. no one is disputing that the CVA is technically okay - as it stands it has neither been defaulted on, nor paid. The issue is that there wasn't enough cash to start addressing debt, but there was plenty to use on players. So it's not a legal issue, it's a moral one - offering new contracts at £20K a week while shafting the creditors (even though they were thick enough to vote for a shafting.) And many of the few honestly believe that their debts are history - they think the CVA has been cleared by the new 'owners' or the debts are being dealt with, when in fact they have just been delayed. Doing that legally doesn't make it right - not many post-admin football clubs go a year without paying off some creditors. The small print isn't a great defence for a club accused of crippling small portsmouth businesses and charities. I can see some effort being made next April but when you get into years two and three when £5M needs to be found - that is a timebomb! Luckily the Lampitt and Cotterill masterplan to gamble and go straight back up last season to cover the shortfall with Prem money worked a treat. Actually, it didn't, it was an unmitigated disaster that has weakened the business even further - but it's great to see they have both been retained to continue with their ideas! The only answer to their problems is still the same as it was 814 pages ago - new cash on the table. No loans, no promises, just hard cash - so let's see what the Russians are made of.
  3. In the forum world where deluded claims are common and fiction is often peddled as fact, one man retains his crown and stands head and shoulders above the crowd. The punters pop more copper coins into Ho's little thong and he dances for us once again. Just when I thought zero was the worst street cred score you could get, he helps himself to a points penalty. Please stop, it was funny at first but now we are concerned about you. Your silence since your outing was dignified, to return with all this James Bond stuff is just wrong.
  4. not being harsh on pfc123 who seems genuinely interested, but I suspect that most pompey fans do not realise they have yet to exit administration correctly because the CVA hasn't even started. I bet most of the few think that their debts are all behind them, but in reality they haven't even looked at them yet. And that is why many football fans feel they are still cheating by paying out for players and massive wages when they can't even pay their current wagebill let alone the costs of the last few years. pfc123 - do you get why we are ****ed off now? At least paying the CVA would be a start but AA delayed it because the club was already trading insolvently due to the likes of Lawrence and Kitson's £20K a week. They did the crime but don't want to do the time.
  5. the main problem with trying to sign any former pompey player is that they have been massively overpaid so now have unrealistic salary expectations. Unless he and his agent get real, we can't afford him. And the idea of 'no fee means we can pay big wages' is the road to ruin. More likely to go to Leicester, West Ham, or even someone like Swansea perhaps?
  6. it still makes me chuckle that some cannot tell the difference between servicable debt and imminent bankruptcy. 'Man Utd's debts are bigger than ours, why aren't they docked points?' mutter the dim few between their two teeth. Try to keep up, even Ho knows what insolvent trading is and how long his club was doing that - and probably still is.
  7. looks like the pompey deal to swap Lambert with Ben Haim seems to have hit a snag the size of a three year contract. Very quiet on the transfer front, I would have liked us to confirm something, even though we already have a decent squad. Time is getting on for those last minute bargains, though Cotterill now looks like the bloke running around the filling station shop on Christmas Eve. Charcoal and lads mags for everyone again this year.
  8. Saints Forum 5-0 Ho's Street Cred. What a hilarious return! Mainly because he just doesn't get it. Still in denial, still resorting to insults to disguise an ignorance of the facts - top stuff! Methinks Ho should talk to ladies more often to calm him down, maybe get down Horton Heath with Avram, let off some.......steam.
  9. The Prem breathes a huge sigh of relief, if convicted Yeung will only have become an unfit and improper person while in charge of a Championship club! - the Prem brand is still squeaky clean. Not sure where they go if he is proven to be a criminal, that would make a mockery of the FaPPT.....like we didn't know. Presumably the club would have a problem as they would have to be immediately sold, unless the authorities just let him carry on regardless. I see the authorities sitting on their hands, maybe sending a stern letter - and denying they are incompetent. Another nail in the coffin of the FaPPT, though I doubt if you can still see any wood on the lid of that particular item.
  10. There's no way a loan shark surrenders all control without seeing his money. The child-maimer held onto land to protect the money owed to him, Chanrai is the cleverest bloke there and will have retained leverage - probably the ground, possibly his legal claim to 4/5ths of any transfer income. He now has the added power of being a creditor near the top of the list for payments. The owners cannot take money out until he is paid. Chanrai took control the day he loaned money, AA followed his orders throughout admin - he is still in control today.
  11. Bearing in mind they haven't even started exiting administration correctly from a previous takeover and there are still legal issues all over the show, unlike Kanu, this thread still has legs. Once they are cleared of all wrongdoing by courts and independent financial investigations then perhaps the thread will be ready for closure, but we still await details from that original takeover, so I would suggest it is still valid. I understand why the few want to pretend none of this is happening and no doubt history is already being rewritten in pompey pubs, but investigations and court actions are still ongoing so the thread lives on. Perhaps it could just do with a rebrand - All Things Skate? Fishy Corner? The Silence of The Few?
  12. Summary of current trouble waiting in the wings, and possible outcomes - 1. CVA - likely to be ignored or delayed further, will only be a problem a couple of years from now. 2. Tax evasion court cases - recent odd events suggest they are unlikely to cause any hassle even if the club is found guilty via Storrie. 3. The current dodgy balance sheet - just needs some more dirty money pumped in to meet shortfall. 4. Fratton Park falling down - see 3, to botch it up. 5. The annoyed taxman - from his recent court appearances, incapable of sitting the correct way on a toilet let alone mounting a successful legal action. 6. Forensic investigation - This is the one that could cause problems, I cannot see how any independent look at the club books is going to give them a clean bill of health. Then again any punishment from the toothless FL is unlikely. Short term, they haven't quite got away with it, but they are on a yacht somewhere in the Med living it up with a couple of tarts.
  13. These rumours are just Lampitt and Cotterill reacting to West Ham trying to take their crown for the most insane transfer policy whilst heavily in debt. Hopefully the two maddest clubs in the division will soon engage in a bidding war for Viera. Nice to see the court case appears to be trundling along still, while it cannot be reported, some people will know the result prior to the next one so I would hope there will be a clue pop up here or there.
  14. it was a close thing but with Mack's history of spelling the jury wasn't sure whether he intended it to be clever or not I'll let you have that one - let's not have a spat...
  15. For me the prize for the worst/best fish-based gag today goes to Adminnowstration! Or am I talking pollocks? So we started the day thinking Storrie was dancing off down the high street without a care in the world but do we now think he's still shackled in orange overalls like a crack whore at a Max Mosley marshal briefing?
  16. nothing with our legal system surprises me anymore and this is just another 'odd' incident in situations that follow them around. Anyone for a secret handshake or thick brown envelope? No Avram, not that type of handshake.
  17. it's about time they were put back in their plaice.
  18. let's not forget we were two divisions below them not long ago, they had billionaires and a new harbourdome on the way, we were penniless and facing closure. And we could be above them again in six weeks time. Whatever they say, and whenever it happens, that's gonna hurt.
  19. if you sing loudly, get your mate to ring a bell, and stick some of your many fingers in your ears you can pretend that nothing is wrong! That's the way to view this great new dawn for plucky little post-debt pompey. Any of the few ready to recognise that the huge elephant is still sat in the corner, only now he's wearing a fur hat? I know there aren't many of them but I don't hear much protest. Are they all laundered and thieved out?
  20. Eddie the Eagle was brave and showed incredible commitment, but I wouldn't trust him to mark a decent striker. Wherever possible I think I'd prefer my big strong defenders to come with technical skill as well - and don't start me on 'belief' or that 'little bit of magic in the final third'. I'm sure he was a great leader in Bournemouth's dodgy defence but as we well know, a few League One players who were much better than him last season will need to up their own games to survive at the higher level. So for me the jury is still out.
  21. The legal problem is that they haven't defaulted on the CVA, they haven't even missed any payments - they've just delayed starting it, hoping it will go away. No rules broken! They just need to produce another false accountancy report that gives the impression they will start the CVA on time - or delay it again - that is all they have to do to satisfy the Football League and their flimsy charter. I'm sure the rest of football and even many of the few have no idea that pompey haven't even exited administration properly yet, that is the scandal. And the change of ownership means that Chanrai can now take money out even if the Russians can't - BigShadow may well have hit on a clever bit of the masterplan. At least these puppets seem to exist. I've heard of this type of plan before but in slightly different circumstances..... A Mr Gaydamak's accounts were frozen until he lost a massive court case so the only legal access to those frozen funds was if he was forced by a court ruling to pay out those damages - to a certain Mr Chanrai. And the amount payable and retrieved from those frozen bank accounts was very similar to Chanrai's immediate and alleged loan into pompey. Very clever, seemingly working against each other BUT in reality working together to get around legislation and move money you previously couldn't get at.... Chanrai is now a poor old creditor again, he's owed loan repayments, so by stepping aside six inches, the hard-done-by loan shark has just jumped himself back up the queue and is assured preferential treatment from the new company that he has personally placed in charge. He has controlled the club from the day he put in loans, he remained in full control throughout administration and is still in charge even though he doesn't even own the club - and in reality, he never has! The business owed him money, he took it over - reluctantly! Whatever we think of the way they do business down the road, Chanrai is a clever bloke and he's still pulling the strings.
  22. I suggest SOS pompey don't disband completely, maybe just stand down for a few weeks and keep in touch. Probably not worth putting the banners in the loft, it could save getting the step ladder out in a month or so. Then again if they are happy, I guess this thread is done. yeah right! Let's see the accounts.
  23. 8K? - I think I'd have kept those figures quiet. So based on about 16K gates, a quick bit of rough maths would suggest their likely turnover from gate money and season tickets is going to work out at about £150K a week. Three of their players currently take half of that...... Ben Haim currently requires more than half of their season ticket income to cover his weekly wage - equivalent to Saints paying Forecast approx £85K a week, just to watch games. Any pompey fan who has renewed at £499 will be paying nearly £300 of that to Ben Haim. The TV money and sponsorship will finance most other areas of the club but the wages to income levels looks very fragile - with low gates they could be heading for another season of 90% of turnover going on wages - time for the Russians to splash the cash, just to stand still! Our income is likely to be approx 50% higher than theirs, so presuming we do okay and gates hold up, Cortese's business model looks a little more sturdy. I've been generous to them on the figures and tough on ours so the gulf could in reality be massive - like double the gate receipts. Feel free to correct me with your own calculations.
  24. I'm surprised some didn't ask what electricity is. Anyway, the training ground owners are going to go spare when they hear that we've been developing their property! Doesn't beat that bloke the other day who seriously suggested that we give away 12,500 tickets for every home game. I'm starting to wonder if a significant number of the few are a little bit 'special'.......tis certainly a club for local people.
  25. Wanted - over-the-hill footballers! If your career appears over, we can find you a final payday! - inflated contracts of two or even three years can be yours! Just go to Steve Cotterill's WeBuyAnyPlayer.com and you will be offered more cash than you are worth, it's as easy as taking money from stupid creditors and disabled children! Some deals are so lengthy you are likely to be retired before they finish coughing up cash, and remember, this money is totally clean by the time it gets to you whether through Image Rights or good old brown envelopes! There's none of that nasty arms dealing, limbless children or organised crime guilt with these wages! Perhaps your recent form hasnt really lived up to expectations, on your last legs? -maybe you're regarded as a failure at your current club? Well come on down to the Fratton Arena where they make the Portsea donkey sanctuary look like heartless ba$tards! No more abuse from your own fans, where you're going there's not enough of them to bother you! Get the sea air, double your wages, meet people with more digits than you thought possible - and if it all goes t1ts up, the football creditor rule will guarantee your pension fund is paid in full! So waste no time, contact Cotterill and Lampitt today - they will pay you whatever you fancy, just name your price, and they'll double it! They have a ludicrous wage offer with your name on it, and the good old signing on bung that's big enough to choke a horse. Just see what our customers say - I couldn't believe what they offered me, I only had to sit on the bench occasionally, and the cheques just kept coming every month. No one seemed bothered that I had been retired for two years, and I only went there in the first place to buy a practical joke for my mate. Antti N. The money is fantastic, or at least it will be when I see it. Tal BH I was at a low point, no one wanted me, and then this offer came out of the blue. I thought it was a wind-up at first - but here I am, living the dream, dressed as a footballer, they even let me run out with the proper players. Dave K. So don't delay, if you've been turned down by 91 football league clubs, remember that there's the last chance saloon where any players are welcomed and at crazy prices, top prices even paid for MOT failures! conditions. some of your pay may be stolen from local charities, you may have to await the outcome of court proceedings before getting fully paid, the taxman will despise you, you may be asked to take part in some football matches occasionally - and if you cross the owners they may shoot you in the face.
